Tell me about Fallon > Nevada

Thinking of retiring there in about 5 years or so. I currently live in North Alabama. I've been through Fallon twice, once this summer and once about 18 years ago. The Black Rock Desert and pretty much all of Nevada is my favoritist place in the world to go to (less LV).

Weather, climate, cost of living, politics, people, the whole good, bad and ugly picture.

Other than that I like Fallon. Small enough to be a nice town, big enough to have things like a Wal-mart Supercenter.

The only place in Nevada that I have seen farms with cornfields. And today I say melons in the supermarket that were grown in Fallon.

I live in Fernley, BTW.

My son and I went through Fernley twice while in Nevada. Nice place too, got cheap diesel at the truck stop on the Interstate - lasted me all the way to east Mississippee too.. Fallon was more my choice only because of the Walmart SuperCenter: Lady in Fernley said Fallon or Reno.

You got some big tanks..my tractor-trailer has a range of ~1000 miles with 2x100 gallon tanks

housing is cheaper in Fernley than in Reno, and cheaper in Fallon than in Fernley. It's still expensive in any place around here.

I like Fallon, nice out there. Used to do gun shows there. Hiway 50 is a great trip to Ely.
Fernly and Fallon have both grown alot in the last 5 -6 years. I'll take Fallon anyday.

i live in fallon and like it alot. the real downside is all of the fuckin squids sense we have top gun navy base. awsome hunting around here and tons of places to go shooting. the cancer thing is really bogus to.
