Lake City just had an $82 price increase on the green tip 5.56 (SS109).Needless to say we made a counter offer and they refused it.What we have in stock is all we will have unless they get real.
$239-1000 delivered
$439-2000 delivered

Holy shit!  Over $300 for 1k.

ETA-  From ammoman email.

that's why my last ammo purchase was this:

Black Hills 75 gr

Might as well, as the prices are getting pretty damn close!

Man, raw materials couldn't have gone up that much, even with the increase in transportation costs of higher fuel costs.

If lead gets any more expensive it might be cheaper to shoot real silver bullets.

New, USGI 30rd mag...$10 (down from $25)

30 rd M855 $9 (up from $3.50)

This is craziness, I can buy 'em but I can afford to shoot 'em.

If you have to have 62gr ammo, you might want to try British Radway Green stuff. I have shot close to 500 rounds without and problems. Much cheaper than LC.

thanks,
Ron

Isn't this stuff slower than other M855? Not that it matters, but if someone wants to keep relatively consistent zeros, would you have a noticeable difference?

Ammoman's Lake City M855 is outstanding shtf stockpile.  They come in bandoleers / stripper clips (w/chargers and safety pins) in lead sealed ammo cans.

That's the way it should come unless it's PD ammo.

Still have a bunch left from a box of M855 pd purchased a while back and it shoots fine.  Haven't thrown any rounds out yet.

I haven't used it in any full-autos.. just my AR15's. It worked in one of my AR's that will only function correctly with USGI or Israeli ammo.

Might be worth it to pick up a couple hundred rounds locally and make sure it functions correctly in your weapon first. If it doesn't, I will gladly accept your rejects

Ron

The price of ammoman's Lake City 7.62X51MM XM80, 1K rounds, packed loose, has steadily climbed lately.  Good stuff though.  Think I need more.

10/05 $259.00
12/05 $279.00
07/06 $299.00

Can't wait until January when we all get our whopping annual 3% raise so I can afford to buy....absolutely nothing.

WOW....

Is Lake City really worth that much? I have been firing South African that fires like a champ as well as some Australian that I stocked up on back when it was cheap.

Have any of you tried the SS109 that Discount firearms or Citidal is selling? It is made in the United Arab Emirites. I know that Herb at Century Arms(FL) has sold a lot of it and wondered what peoples opions were of it. the stuff sells for a great price.

The Adcom lot that Century is selling has a tendency to pop it's primer. If you read the description from Century it says something to the fact of leaving residue. I got an email from a person at AimSurplus and he let me know that the primer is the "residue". I guess that's why the price is only $2.86 per box of 20 for 62gn, boxer-primed ammo.

I don't know which lots that the locals dealers are selling but it might be worth looking into

thanks,
Ron

To me it is.  It's hard enough getting a product Made in the USA nowadays.

not sure how much effect this has, but in the electrical trade, copper has gone from about 85 cents a pound to over 3$ a pound in the last year, so that combined with BS fuel price increases might be the reason for the price jump.
