| Looking for a place to move to and south west vegas is looking good what do you guys think??? |
*chuckles* Glad I slipped in before the door shut! ;) Somiskid from "Somis", California? Goodness, I know where it is--just west of Moorpark, of Ronald Reagon Library fame. At least it is a generally conservative area. Maybe we'll let you in, but there is a two firearm minimum requirement for citizenship rights. ;-) Seriously, when you say "southwest", what do you mean? Mountain's Edge, Southern Highlands, Rhode's Ranch, etc? Looking for a house to buy, or a place to rent? -Caver |

Somis isn't a bad place. Once you get the ranchers to stop keeping slaves and the farmworkers from driving in front of 70mph trains it'll be a nice place. The 118 is my favorite way to bypass the 101, mostly because I'm a railfan. Now that they are improving the road on the Somis end it isn't near as nice a leisurely a drive. |

Well i was looking specifically at this plaace www.clubsatrhodesranch.com it seems nice and it's just going to be me and my lady so the one bedroom places look good and very affordable...... and as far as the two fire arm minimum i meet that and exceed it and i'm going to bring my lowers that i bought in the cali frenzy and actually make them into real ar's!!!!!! i can't wait!!! Also my family was friends with the Reagons so i hope this gives me a little more credit....... |
| Just looking for something nice that i can live in single bedroom apartment is fine as long as it's nice.....it will just be me and my lady so i guess single family is good but i want to live somewere nice so my lady can be safe and not have to worry about going outside at night..... |
Rhodes Ranch is pretty close to the Silverton and Bass Pros. The neighborhood should be good, and I expect property values in that area to appreciate. They will be building a major shopping complex on Blue Diamond Rd. I do suggest you consider buying now, if you can afford it. Home prices aren't getting any cheaper, and it is easy to find yourself priced out of the market. There are also some KB Homes on Jones and Haleh, not too far from Rhodes Ranch, which may be worth looking into. Smaller homes, but still reasonably priced. There are a few developments going up around the area in various price ranges. Good luck, and let us know how things are going! -Caver |
I used to live there a few years before i bought my house. Back then they were brand new (they were still dong construction to some of the units when I moved in. I lived in the very back left building in a one bedroom and my patio faced the golf course. I never had any issues but there were some nuckleheads that lived there. My neighbors were all cool and I had a stripper with hot stripper friends live above me. They now have a grocery store and banks and everything else right next door. Back then there was nothing but an expensive gas station. Now Im in Southern Highlands and this is a failry upscale place and there are already some shitty people moving in letting their homes go to shit..so much for an HOA huh? Still, hardly ever hear a siren and my block is nice for now atleast. |

As for apartment living- When you put that many rats in a cage, you are going to have problems. It doesn't matter what area you are in, apartments will always have issues. Rhodes Ranch has some ghetto scetion 8 close by. A BUNCH of homes and some complexes. Same goes for Southern Highlands. I would opt for the Southern Highlands over Rhodes.......just understand being that far out there means lil' police coverage. |

It is a big city...you take the good with the bad. Unless you can squeeze in the Sun City apartments (55+), there will always be issues. But even the Sun City guys have issues with dying off and the nut job ones! If you find a place, ask here.......some of us have some experience in the SW area. |
