I believe it came in something like 115. eta: I have to say the ccw contact number gave some good information. She knew exactly when my 120 was up and the day I walked in to register. It's better now too from what I've heard, being a one stop shop location, vice going from this place to that to get it done. And as you walk in you take a number, get called then they tell you to go and get another number. Well I fell asleep when they called this second number and I thought I was screwed. Walked up and the lady at the window said no worries, and they called my name vice a number for the rest of the time there. |
We now return you to your regularly programed schedule..., Re: Elderly Robbery Victim Fights Back ![]() The rj had more info. I think the ole man knew exactly what he was doing when he told the guy that he had more money at home. The rj article played it like getting the piece in his car was an afterthought. I doubt that. Does your ccw rig allow you to carry with you as you exit a car? Does this limit you to a forward of 090/270 carry? eta: I especially liked the part where his partner, who took the dead guys gun and threw it on some roof, is being charged with murder since his side kick died. |
If I carry right handed at 3 or 4 o'clock, my seatbelt prevents any smooth draw. I was thinking of getting a cheapie fobus or UM and fashion a hook or something so that the pistol can just sit muzzle down by the parking brake. Once you exit the car, put the pistol back in discretely.
felony murder rule |
No other artlcle online that I could find, but the rj did a front page article the day after. Apparently the elderly man told an armed gunman at a car wash (self serve at night I believe) while giving him his wallet that most of his money was at home. This I believe was a ploy to get him into the car. It's not clear where the gunman's partner was but the nimwad gets into the car and the old man shoots him while in the back seat. The old man (82 yo retired CEO of some company) takes one in the chest but kills the guy. Then the gunman's partner takes his partners gun and throws it on some roof and is caught and now charged with murder himself. Old man is recovering at UMC. |

Quoted: Does your ccw rig allow you to carry with you as you exit a car? Does this limit you to a forward of 090/270 carry? I find that when I drive "Mexican Carry" IWB works best for me. I put my shirt over the seatbelt which conceals the gun and allows very quick access while seated. Other times I will carry in a shooting side (RH) BlackHawk CQC Serpa holster outside the waistband. This mode of carry is not the best while driving, so I will often remove the gun from the CQC and either carry Mexican temporarily, or just put it under my left thigh. Before I exit the vehicle I will reholster into the CQC. Also, I never leave the house (day or night) without at least two spare mags and a tac light..... |

I switch between my Sig P220, and my Stainless Colt Commander. I usually carry the 1911 during the summer because it is stainless, and I carry the Sig in the cooler months. Although I had the slide on the P220 coated, the slide release, decocker, and mag release still rusts a little. I have to buy undershirts (wife beaters) a couple of times a year, because of rust transfer from the Sig, and tears in the material from the hammers and cocking serrations from both guns. Just the other night I completely pulled down the 1911 and cleaned and lubricated every part from the ground up. That will most likely stay in the safe until the warmer months, unless I carry and use it during range classes for live-fire demonstrations. |
Oh, thanks for reminding me VSMG, I forgot about the grip screws on the 220. I had Sig send me a set of stainless screws and I only installed two on the left side of the gun (that side which is closest to my body). Thankfully the SS grip screws remedied that problemo. I guess I can get the decocker, mag release, and the slide release in stainless..... But on a blue gun that would be a little too flamboyant for me, as I have a hard enough time explaining the two SS screws on the "body" side of the gun as it is. Hope this helps..... |
