Did I hear right this AM?? I was going into surgery and was watching the TV so I did'nt get to see it all. I heard Rumsfled say the US spends more money on feeding the detainees at Guantanamo Bay (religious correct food ??) than it does on feeding out troops. WOW. I was just hoping I was on goood drugs That's horrible to me. I'm sure they don't treat our men/women good if they are prisoners. |

WE ARE TOO DAMN SOFT!!!!! IS IT NOT A WAR ON TERROR? OR ARE WE TRYING TO WINE AND DINE OUR WAY INTO THEIR HEARTS? SOMEONE PLEASE LIGHT THE FUSE ON THE CANNON AND POINT IT IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION...... The filthy pricks make me ill, they will eat what they are used to. Camel shit and sand cakes. "G" |

They're feeding us pretty good here. The mess halls here all have a lobster or crab-leg night at least once a month. Tonight I had prime rib and breaded shrimp. Biggest problem is that the military over-cooks the snot out of everything. And the haji cooks dont help much either as left to their own means they'd over-season everything. So while the shrimp was ok (even already had the tails pulled for easy eating) the roast beef was gray all the way through and as moist as sand. But that's about par for the course for any red meats the mess halls served. Back when I was at Camp Navistar we would get steaks from the mess hall for unit BBQs. Those steaks, when BBQ'ed were damn tasty. Juicy and tender, we'd typically eat them caveman style--without any utensils to slow you down. But when the mess hall cooked them they'd come out dry and tough with hardly any flavor. One of the first thing I'll be doing when I get home is going out to dinner at Bob Taylor's Ranch House. |
