| I am planning on a vacation to LV either this year or next and I was thinking of taking the 2 day pistol course at Front Sight during the 5 days I will probably be there. I assume some of you have taken the course and wonder how you liked it? |

I would recommend that you take the 4 day class instead of the 2 day. The 2 day class is just the first 2 days of the 4 day class. The classes get a lot more indepth after the first 2 days. Stay in Pahrump at the Best Western, eat at the buffet at the Pahrump Nugget, be sure to take your lunch and plenty od Gatorade every day, as you will not have time to go into town on lunch break. If you need anything else, just ask. Scott |
This is good advice. The four-day has a ton of good stuff that isn't in the two-day. But the two-day is still worth it. |

+1 on the 4 day if possible Excellent training, great instructors, really "opens your eyes" to the skills you may be lacking. My wife and I have both taken classes out there and recently purchased memberships. It's none of my business, but were you paying the regular price for the course? As 444 mentioned the training certificates ... If you aren't familiar with them they are by far the best deal and readily available on ebay (or a friendly ARFCOMer) for a fraction of the price of the normal course $. The certs.(most of the ones avail., as there are different "grades") allow a single person to take the four day class free of charge (minus ammo, food,& lodging of course), or two people to take th two day. They are however only for first time students unless you can find a Blue seal (I think that's the one) which can be used by a returning student as well. There is no expiration date for the certs. Sorry I rambled on, but training is a serious issue. Front Sight is a great deal at any price, and the increased confidence in stopping Mr. Bad Guy if needed is PRICELESS. Thanks y'all, Cliff |

Well, if you're only going to have two days, your son is going as well and it's the first time at FS for both of you, then you really should get one of the grey certificates from Fingers. I bought one for a birthday present for my sister and her roommate (who keep flaking on setting a weekend aside--sorry, Fingers, but I'll keep hounding them). The cert is a bargain and much better than even the 25 percent off deal you're talking about. You'll learn a lot at FS if it's your first exposure to training. Have fun! |

The certs are $200 plus $5 for postage and are good for one person to take a 4 day course or two people to take a 2 day course together. They are only good for first time students at FS. I've got a posting in the EE or you can email me for more info if you want. |
