Hi Guys,
BLM Ranger Crayton, whom many of you met yesterday at the DBS shoot, called me this afternoon.  He told me that he has arranged a clean up of the sloan area for Sat and Sun, March 1 & 2 beginning at 9am.  It sounds like he has arranged donations of heavy equipment and rolloffs to help out.

For those who met the ranger yesterday, you already know that he is a friend of ours and a very valuable ally against those who don't like our sport.  We also know the value of keeping Sloan as a shooting area.  Ranger Crayton expressed to me yesterday and today how impressed he was with the group and that he is willing to help us in any way he can.  He also wants to join us at next months shoot!  I have personally committed to be there at least one of those days and I encourage everyone to make an effort to be there.

For those who have not been shooting at Sloan, I still encourage you to come out and lend a hand.  If nothing else you can learn about another area to shoot at and meet other shooters.

If anyone needs any more info or directions just post and I am sure you will get an answer.

Just a reminder for all you Sloan shooters out there. Ranger Crayton is organizing a clean up for tomorrow morning at 9am. Hope to see some of you out there and maybe we can cut loose a few rounds afterward.

Hi Guys,
Well we filled 3 rolloffs today plus a trailer with scrap metal but there is still a lot to do.  The Ranger Crayton will be out there again tomorrow at 9am for all those who could not make it today.  I don't think I will be able to get out there tomorrow so maybe one of you can post how it went.  See Y'all later.

Well, we even managed to get some press.  The Las Vegas Mercury is an "alternative" weekly that I doubt many of us read but what the hell, "any publicity is good publicity" as they say.  Actually, the reporter did a pretty good job.  She was the "Oooh, guns scare me" type but I did not feel any of the usual "judgemental vibes" even as Ranger Crayton and I were comparing our Sig 226's while waiting for the skip loader to return.  The Sloan portion of the article is near the end.

Caver and I were out there on sunday and we got a bit done.  We could have used a few more bodies and rakes.  But we got a bit done.
