Greetings, Senate Bill 74 will allow a non-resident that has a concealed firearm permit issued by another state to carry a concealed firearm in Nevada. The issueing state must have requirement equal to or exceeding Nevada's requirements, and must recognize Nevada's CFP. The text of the bill is available at www.leg.state.nv.us/72nd/bills/SB/SB74.html. The major stumbling block that I see with this bill is that very few other states have a "specific firearm" clause in their requirements, so this must be addressed, but it's a good starting point. This bill should be amended if possible, but supported in any case. I have created a mailing list that will allow you to send an email message adding your support for this bill to all committee members. Simply send your e-mail to [email protected] with the subject "SB74". It will automatically be sent to all members of the committee hearing this bill. When writing your email, be polite but firm in your support for the bill. Keep your message short and to the point. Thanks for your continued support. Best regards, Jim Mayhugh Nevada CCW Information Site www.nvccw.org |

I am in full support of Bill SB74, an individual with a CCW should be allowed to protect his or her family while visiting our fine state. We have a tourist based economy and lots of visitors, approving this bill is a step in the right direction. I have a CCW and do not visit states that do not honor Nevada's CCW permit. I owe it to my family to always be able to defend and protect them, going to a state where I cannot be armed is letting them down in my eyes. Let's show the law abiding with CCW's from other states they are welcome here to enjoy all there is to do in Nevada. Thank You, Bob Mayo **** ******* ***** ** North Las Vegas, NV. 89031 702-***-**** 702-***-**** |

Sent: To Whom It May Concern, As a citizen and firearms enthusiast residing in this great state, I want to express my full support for Nevada Senate Bill SB74. This bill would provide that individuals in possession of a concealed weapons permit issued from another state would be permitted to carry concealed his or her firearm while in Nevada, with certain provisos. Given that our volatile national economy has suffered constant barrage from outside forces, I believe it to be instrinsic for anyone to be allowed to protect themselves or their families in a manner consistant with the provisions of the concealed-carry laws. We cannot afford the wholesale slaughter of tourists, so critical to our state, especially when they are qualified to possess and use a firearm to defend themselves. As a concealed weapons permit holder, it is my opinion that legislation, such as what SB74 proposes, are fostered with the greatest of inspirations: the preservation of life at the most fundamental level. I urgently and enthusiastically encourage you to support SB74 and its expedient implementation. Regards, Steven Martin, XXXX XXXXXX XXXX XXXX Las Vegas, Nevada, 89131 702-595-7575 |

Greetings, SB74, the Nevada Reciprocity bill will have its first hearing on Friday, February 14, at 8:00am in the Senate Judiciary Committee, Room 2149. If you have not yet sent an e-mail showing your support for SB70, send an e-mail to this address [email protected] and it will be forwarded to all Committee members. Please keep you email short, and be polite, but firm in your support for SB74. There is a companion bill that has not yet been introduced that is aimed at removing the "specific gun" clause out of the NRS, so we want this bill passed with no amendments. -- Best regards, Jim Mayhugh Nevada CCW Information Site http://www.nvccw.org |
