So I picked up a korstog var the other day for my old man. It was a good deal under 700 out the door. Beaver dam store.
Anyway got home racked the charging handle and the safety was froze solid in the safe position. Did a little research and that moe has a Jp trigger and jp ambi safety installed. I took the grip off and turns out the groove for the detent wasn't Lined up. I adjusted it and now moves somewhat freely. There is a little resistance still. There is also a set screw in the middle of the safety when looking down on the inside of lower. I adjusted the screw per the instructions on jp website. When the gun is on safe the trigger is locked by that small set screw. But if I move the safety even slightly off safe then the gun will fire. So I attempted to take the ambi safety out and replace with a standard one I had laying around but looks like I have to remove the trigger group in order to get safety out! They also used very small Allen head screws on or in the pins that hold the trigger group in place and I didn't have 2 wrenches that small. I ended up messing with the set screw some more. But it will still fire if slightly off safe position. Is this something I should worry about? My other ARs won't fire unless all the way in fire position. It seams like this is the way the safety is designed? I'll try and find a link for the safety. Thanks for your time. https://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=JPFC-SA |

I did email them. Waiting for reply. I'd rather not send it in for a simple safety selector issue but we'll see what happens. I also emailed jp to see what they say. |
