Decided to give myself a Christmas gift this year. I want to build a SBR possibly add a can too. I have some experience building with an 80% lower so I know I can do it. I am considering a lower from Wisconsin Tactical and having them engrave the lower. Any pointers or advice?

I would have Shooting Systems do the engraving.

I assume you have experience with them?

I have seen a good number of different people's NFA guns and I am always impressed with Larry's work.

Yup.  And get your can from Larry, too.

The transfer fee is built into the silencershop purchase.  $75 IIRC.

Larry doesn't charge a transfer fee if you buy a can from him.  I've bought all my cans from him.

I would probably pickup a lower from MI if you didn't have something else specific in mind and then send it off to larry.  I've received 5 cans from him with two more waiting. Also 3 lowers engraved as well and each was quality work.

Just buy an AR pistol and be done with it. Why waste the coin on a tax stamp paperwork etc. What is that little stock going to do for you and is it worth the hassle?? Heck if you have that much money to throw away I'll put it to good use.

If you build an SBR, it's a rifle. If you buy a pistol, it's good to go, loaded and concealed on your CCW.
