Newstalk Radio guy Mark Bellings is claiming that he's got reliable sources close to Walker that says he will resign the governorship midway through this term regardless of how his presidential bid goes. Reasons stated that he pretty much accomplished all he set out to do already and has ambitions of moving to something bigger on the national stage.
Is this old news or a newly hashed rumor? That would make Kleefisch the first woman governor in WI. Which I have to say I'd really love to see considering how butthurt the liberals in this state would be having this much despised conservative going down in the history books as Wisconsin's first woman governor. |

Does anyone else feel shorted with this presidential run? I supported him with funds and votes for all the governor runs. It really seems he is just doing what the hard right wing guys are wanting him to do for the sake of a presidential run....like he's looking past WI.
Kind of makes me pissed off. I wanted him to be my governor. Anyone else? |

Almost seems like he sort of shifted gears immediately after the last election. |
| I actually like it, I believe he's keeping one of his campaign promises and not go a be a lifetime governor. It is frustrating how he's campaigning and not focusing on the state as much as he should. The hole budget is a mess, he needs to step in and give a little guidance, and mediate the holdup. Walker is my second choice for president. |

He's a politician, first and foremost. That's all you really need to know. These people follow the scent of power better than any bird dog could possibly dream of doing. this. till we start THROWING OUT the politicians who loose their way, we will continue to rot from within. power corrupts. absolute power corrupts absolutely |

I wanted him to be my governor. Anyone else? I stopped my WA state tax exemption so I could vote for him. We need him in Wisconsin. Being an example of how conservative values benefit a state economy is a better message to the national stage than taking an easy shot at president. When I met him, I told him that he ran on a small government platform and that we still needed that.
If he fucks off, there will be no way to tie any benefits to his policies. They will either be derailed by dems or attributed to someone else. |

If his intent was to make a run for president(which I think has obviously been his goal since before reelection), he should have let a republican who will actually be in the state and govern run for the office and just not run for reelection. I honestly think he's screwing us over by doing the job half assed. A governor in a state as divided as Wisconsin needs to devote his entire attention to the job of running our state and getting our agenda passed. I like the guy, but he has been out of the state almost his entire second term. It seems like he is just using this term as a placeholder while he runs for the presidency. |

I do like Cruz I'm just not a 100% sold on him. I just don't know we're he stands on a lot of issues, and the problem I see for him and some of the others is that there is the most diverse field of nominees In my voting life |
| I liked Governor Walker. The shit Presidential candidate Walker is talking about on the other hand I like a lot less. Why the hell is he talking about a marriage definition amendment (something the president has no say in) instead of shit that matters like taxes and the budget? It seems like almost every time we get a candidate that looks good before their presidential run they start blathering on about wedge issues instead of shit that actually matters. The Rs already have the anti gay/anti abortion vote so stop pandering to them and talk about what you are actually going to do. |

(And pissing off the liberals big time, which is fun.) Then, turns around and does the WRONG stuff to get elected as a Republican. His strategist is an idiot. He's going to be out on his ass, not our governor, and not our president... and he seems to be in a hurry to do it. |

Like most of you, I'd like to keep him as Governor for a while yet.
As far as the Presidential run goes, he would be my second or third choice right now. I hope he's strong enough to resist the establishment Republicans on some of the things he believes in strongly. |

I don't follow the NBA at all, but I just read that the Bucks are getting support for a publicly funded stadium from Walker and other Republican state officials. If that is true, Walker is precisely what I thought he was: a power hungry charlatan with no real courage or consistency.
Seriously, how are we supposed to be able to say "no" to all the welfare queens floating around, when we can't even say "no" to the billionaires who threaten to pick up their ball and leave the playground when they might not get hundreds of millions of dollars in subsidies? The Bucks suck, and getting a new stadium won't change anything but increase govt spending. |

I wanted him to be my governor. Anyone else? Yes, I wanted him to stay our governor as we are only one election away from going back to the way they were before he was elected. Liberals just can't help themselves when it comes to killing freedom and regulating commerce. As far as further office for Scott Walker, that is what politicians do and for the most part are only good at. That is getting elected. Walker though has really shaken things up on the left as well as the right. Walker has the ability to propose things and get them accomplished. Basically none of the others ever seem to get the things done that they propose. They probably want things to stay the same or incrementally get worse simply because if things were logically and systemically "fixed" the electorate would think they were not needed any longer. Walker is feared on both the left and the right as a guy who gets things done, and the parties are deathly afraid of that agenda and that type of guy. |
