Hey. I've been getting the itch lately to get into some NFA stuff, especially with this $70 trust deal that was put on over the weekend. I figured it might be fun to "get my feet wet" so to speak with a 22 suppressor. I've got an m&p 15-22 that I think would be a great fit for such an item, but the problem is that naturally I bought the model without a threaded barrel (it was a good price at the time vs a threaded barrel model).
I'm in the Mukwonago area and was wondering if there is a gunsmith around that area that might be able to thread the barrel so that I can start getting into something else that will help ensure I'm not saving too much money

| Thanks for the info. I went to his site and the rate looks reasonable, although the location is right at about the milit for how far I would would to travel. I did find another gunsmith that is much closer to me. My worry though is that I don't want to go with someone who will botch the job. In general, is threading a barrel pretty standard for gunsmithing, or is it more specialized? Thanks for the help. |

Trust us, go to Flamethrower. You are in Mukwanago, he's not even far away. I'm a good 30 miles further Southeast and his work is well worth the drive. The only other place I'd trust to handle threading is ADCO, but why ship it to them when I can throw some business to a local Arfcommer. |
| Ok, you guys have a point, I wouldn't mind meeting/giving business to someone from here. Plus after reading it's pretty obvious that he is well-liked on here. I will give him a call when I decide what surpressor I will go with (thinking of a silencerco spectre-ii). Thanks for the help. |

There are a few good options, but if you are in Mukwonago I know what place you found that is closer. Take it to Todd.
ADCO does great work but you would have to ship it. There is a good gunsmith in Evansville WI who does good work too but that is a drive as well. |

Spectre II is probably one of the better if not the best rimfire can on the market. That seems to be what I am finding online which is why it is the one I want to go with. Plus, it's not too terribly expensive when compared with some of the other options. I was going to buy it off if the silencer shop using their silencer direct service as that seems like a pretty hassle-free way to do things. I see right now they have it on "sale" for $295, but I'm guessing based on the fact that everything else is on "sale" that that's the normal price. |
| Not wanting to create a new thread, and on a somewhat related topic...I found out today that the place I usually use for FFL transfers (mcmillers) at least for now no longer has an FFL. So, I was wondering if anyone knows of any FFL dealers in/around the Mukwonago area. Otherwise, I was thinking midwest industries if there is no one closer and they will do transfers. |

Again, Flamethrower. One stop shop, drop off your barrel and pick up your new gun. |
