| I've been gone a while. I'm getting back into the swing of things and I see things have changed a bit in the AR world. How is everyone? |

Was unique, Dan? I've been raising my kids. I don't get much time to shoot or much money to spend on my own toys anymore. Getting some bills paid off and having some extra cash come my way so, IT'S ON! I hear that! I've had many projects put on slow simmer after my youngest came along. Only so many hours in the day & you want to give them as much attention as possible. At least I do. I'm kinda newer but it is good to see you nonetheless. What are you thinking of building? |

I'm thinking of building a .300 blk for hunting and for some fun. Where are you from GT? You wouldn't happen to be into mustangs would you? Pistol or rifle? Anything in particular you looking to build. I am in Siren. I may know a thing or two about them, why? |

Nice. A little vintage Fox body there. Very cool to hang on to them for so long.
Where'd you used to run? I had an 86 GT & a 90 Notch. Both were turbo'd & ran 10's pretty easily. The Notch had a little more Wheaties as it was set-up to run high-9's, NHRA legal, went mid-10's on pump. Yours? |

Both have been sitting since my wife was pregnant with our first kid. We lost the ability to drop money on our cars that summer. Bought a house and had kids at the same time. This past summer we started getting hers back into drivibg condition. Mine needs more bodywork so hers is an easy fixer.
They both were pretty mild. All we did with hers was 4.10 gears and full exhaust. Being an AOD car, I was surprised she was able to pull off a 14.2 at Byron IL. Mine unfortunately never went anywhere. I helped my buddy build his 89 lx into a 10 second car. I never got the hang of carburetion. My aspiration is to pick up enters I left off with hers. I want to build an Aod and eventually a 331 and give it either a healthy dose of spray or slap a turbo on it. She's more inclined to go with a blower though add she likes the blower whine. |

88's were the best Fox GT but that is pretty good for a mild AOD. Is it SD or a Cali model? My guess is SD...
Blowers are OK. Having to replace drive belts gets old real fast. Had lots of buddies that had blowers. Some powder dynes, Vortec's, Prochargers, etc. too expensive & kinda clunky to me. To much power to drive them. I am a turbo kind of guy. I have had at least a dozen turbo cars as all my personal cars have had them for almost 20yrs now. Even the old lady has had a couple. I had to even build one for my blazer... Next is probablyy going to be a Bravada in the next couple years. I'll just retire the old girl & use everything in the Olds. Juice is fun until the bottle runs out. I ran a 250 shot on my 86 for a while. Just ported E5's & intake on a stock bottom end. Nice little sleeper. Never got a solid run out of it on street tires but it would click about 117. Before that I had a T-Type after a Conquest, which got me into turbos back in about 95 or 96, so I wanted to do the turbo mustang thing after trying some spray. That finally came about in 99 or so. Tough habit to break! Had to put myself through Nitrous Oxide Anonymous... LOL, but a DIY junkyard twin system had me off the bottle for good. I did the whole system for about a grand. Ended up running high 11's on drag radials with that system with an AOD after the T5 checked out. |
