| Just wondering if they are doing physical pat downs on people entering Summerfest or just wanding them? I plan on bringing in my plastic travel flask with my favorite rum in with me. |

Since when do private security entities have the authority to conduct pat-downs? Isn't Summerfest grounds considered public? Check my bag? Sure. Wand me? Whatever. Put your hands on me? Nope. I went a few years ago and was patted down rather heavily. So was everyone else. |

That's good to know, but there's a difference between blindly accepting it "for your safety", vs their authority to do so. |
| I went Sunday and they didnt wand me at the North Entrance but ran a wooden stick down both my sides. They asked me to empty my pockets but never checked areas like my middle back. These were young 20 year old's who were working the security area. I could have gotten away with CC if I wasnt planning on drinking that night. |

I went the other night, brought in my waterbottle of vodka, just made small talk and asked how his night was, let me right in. Keep them distracted and you're in the clear.
He wanded me, but had keys in my pocket that went off, didn't even ask to see them, just said those your keys? |

Serious Question: tell me why you can't openly carry a firearm that is not a handgun into Summerfest. Not that I'd suggest it but the liquor license prohibition doesn't apply to rifles and shotguns as far as I can tell, and since the City of Milwaukee can't impose a ban on guns in parks...
The only thing I can figure is because of the oddball public/private ownership thing where it is owned by the city but leased to a "private" corporation to administer the festivals. |

by "rubbing a wooden stick down our sides", does that mean the stick was rubbing against your side? If so, I'm guessing they are feeling for a tell-tale "bump" or click noise of it hitting a CC.
If you mean they were trying to make people thinking they were wanding (non-contact), then NM. |

How about just following the rules and not bringing booze into the grounds? If you were running it you wouldn't want people bringing in booze would you? Your comment came it bit after the fact. I rarely drink beer and I'm not going to spend $10 at Jo Jo's for a watered down martini. Regarding rules and my opinion of them here is a quote from a science fiction book called "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" "I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free 'cause I know that I am responsible for everything I do." |

Keep in mind the same people that run this are the same people that think wiz khalifa and ludacris are good artists.... |

If you were running a theater you wouldn't want people sneaking candy in either, but only a boob pays 5 bucks for some milk duds when they're a dollar right next door. |

Movie theators make hardly anything off ticket sales, almost all of it goes to the studio, without the high priced food they couldn't be in business. This and bringing in carry ins is one step away from "their prices are to high so I'm just going to steal it". |
