Last time I heard it was created in Las Vegas right before I retired and left in 2009. I believe it was started because of rumors we had about Y2K and FEMA ops that were gaining strength impressing martial law and such during domestic issues (Katrina responses, etc.) which we were increasingly becoming more involved with. Reading AARs I feel most .mil and LE acted beyond accordingly with the details and duties they were assigned. I think it is a model for when you are expected to ascend to perform, you instead fall back to your level of training. In the .mil we used to say, "Good initiative, bad judgement".
The last remark made that was sensible to me was; "advertising Oathkeeper membership was certainly equal to our forefathers identifying themselves unnecessarily to the British while they were recruiting for the revolution". Maybe that is why it is a bit covert? V OUT |
