I have the savage 93 with a BSA Sweet 17 6-18 x 40. All I can say is that it is a tack driver.

Also have the Savage 93, left-handed, with a Bushnell Trophy 3-9X32. It's a "one hole gun" at 50.

eta: Bought it cheap, as it was a "mis-order" by a friend who had a FFL. He ordered a LH model by mistake. I was there at his shop when the gun was delivered. He was busy working on a customer's gun, asked me to unbox it and check it out. When I did I discovered it was LH (I'm LH), he had wanted a RH for a customer's order. Rather than send it back and pay double shipping, he sold it to me for cost.  IIRC it was about $179.

+1 for the Savage 93.  I enjoy shooting the staples out of my buddies target when we hit the range!

I have the Marlin 917VT with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9X40 mounted on it, got it from a co-worker for a good deal (he won it and didn't want it).  That thing is also a tack driver.  I was looking to get the Savage until this came available...definitely not regretting the purchase

How do you like that trigger? Every time I finger feel them at gun shops, I just cringe. Aquired taste I'm guessing, but seems the modern equivalent of trigger shoes to me.

Trigger's just fine. Never put a scale on it, but I'm guessing about 4-5lbs. I've got an early model, and it's not the adjustable  "accu-trigger".... don't know if that's good or bad. Feels just like my 1960's vintage Savage 110 (.30-06).

I haven't shot it too much, maybe 150 rounds. What I remember most about it was 2nd trip to the range with it. Weekday morning, and I was there alone. Someone prior to me had been blasting a watermelon on the 100 yd range, probably day before. The crows were having a feast. 1 shot, 1 dead crow. I was just about to walk down and hang a target, when they came back. Another shot, another dead crow. This time I just waited. Sure enough, few minutes later, some crows came back. I guess that watermelon was just too tempting.  I killed 5 with 5 shots in about 20 mins, before they got the message.
