I didn't have a good feeling about this Packer game. You mean the game that should've been played in Lambeau, because the Packers had a game 'stolen' by the replacement refs (in Seattle), that would've made them the 2nd seed? It might not have made any differance in the outcome, because the 49ers won here in September... but it still pisses me off. The 49ers should've played the extra game, and done the traveling. But, no use crying over spilt milk.... but I had to say it.
Considering all the injuries they suffered this season, I'm a little surprised they even made it this far. On the upside, they've got some good young players (especially on defense) that gained a lot of valuable experience because of some of those injuries. The future looks bright, despite some of Capers' blunders (3rd & long, so rush only 3? WTF?). What they need now is some topnotch "O" linemen to block for the run game and keep Rodgers upright, and a 1st class RB wouldn't hurt either. They also need to keep Greg Jennings. DuJuan Harris looks like a keeper, too. I predict their 1st round draft choice will be an offensive lineman... like the center now playing for Alabama. I wouldn't mind seeing Montee Ball wearing green & gold either. The Pack will be back. |

Ugh. So disappointed. I thought they had a good year, given the injuries and all the rookies. An extra week to rest and game plan would've definitely helped, but who knows.. Need to keep Jennings and need d-line, o-line and linebacker help.
I think the linebackers are just fine, especially after Nick Perry, Desmond Bishop, and D J Smith come back from injury. That's 3 starters (Smith became the starter when Bishop went down) who missed most of the season. Dezman Moses played very well for an undrafted rookie. The D line could use another pass rusher, but they've done pretty good on run defense, but Pickett's getting old and needs to be rotated more. Rookies Worthy and Daniels look like good players who just need a little playing time to develop. Overall, the defense went from last (32) ranked last year up to 11th this year in both yards & points allowed. That's a big jump, and that was with 6 very good rookies getting a lot of playing time (#53 Nick Perry, #76 Mike Daniels, #99 Jerrell Worthy, #54 Dezman Moses, #22 Jerron McMillian, and #29 Casey Heyward) and two pro-bowl caliber players (Mathews & Woodson) missing a lot of time. I've been a football fan for a long long time, and I cannot ever recall any team to have 6 defensive rookies in one year that played that good as a group. I'm baffled by the poor game they had last night, but look forward to next season already. |
