I never realized how good we have it in WI, when you consider the crap our neighbors have to go through.

I thought illinois was the only state that had anything like that.

I have a question about this.  I was looking at the WASR's at the Fleet Farm in Winona, they said they couldn't sell it to me without the "permit" and immediately took the weapon out of my hand.  I explained I was from WI and we don't have to have one to purchase.  Does this apply to a WI resident purchasing in MN or were they just misinformed or maybe acting on a Fleet Farm policy?

I got pretty much the same treatment when I wanted to buy S&W ar15 at Gander Mt in Duluth MN.
It was probably for the better though, as it was an impulse buy.

You can't get a permit to purchase in MN if you are a WI resident, but if you get a permit to carry for the State of MN you can buy long guns.  At least that is how it used to be.

I lived in that place a year ago.  What you say it true, if you are not a MN resident with a permit to purchase or permit to carry you cannot buy a handgun or long gun.  The permit to purchase is a yearly pain, where you go to the police station each year to reapply.  Of course they didn't mail it to me, I'd have to come back in a week to pick it up.  I lived in IL years ago and it seems like I couldn't even buy ammo in Peoria without a permit.

I thank God I live in WI now, where I don't have to ask the state for permission for something that is granted in the Constitution.  Besides I love the fact I can walk in my front yard and see the milky-way and thousands of stars.

Shit... I still miss my time in ND. Cash and carry with a CCW permit. And with that same permit, you can carry ANY legal weapon. Pistol, shotgun, hammer, shank, crowbar, hand grenade, automatic knife, bag of killing, etc.

WI ain't bad, but it's far from perfect.

Ohio is cash and carry without a CCW. Crappy state but they have good gun laws.
Speaking of WI laws, why does WI enforce Illinois firearms laws? Some sort of co-operative deal? I was at a range in Waukesha and some people were there from Illinois. They were required to show an FOID card. Not sure if it was to rent a firearm or just to use the range. Either way, it seemed odd to me.

So do you just go to the store and ask the clerk for a "bag of killing"? Do they keep them in the back room? Or is there a Bag-o-killin display case up front?

They give them to you free when you buy something. However, their effectiveness is based on a die roll.

lol...

If you are in Fargo, the BOK is just down the street.....at Starr Fireworks.  Just ask the clerk at the liquor store for directions.

Bourbon, Ammo and Fireworks, all legal to buy "On Any Sunday."  Steve McQueen would have liked it.

It's their votes, their funeral.  Hopefully we can get good accountability in our voting system so we don't go the same way.

So glad WI got a good turn-around for the time being.  Coming up on one year of carrying! Now we just need to get rid of the stupid 48-hour waiting period and extra check for hanguns for CCW holders.

The whole "offensive pistol caliber machine gun" thing is offensive also

Since it's already hijacked......

You HAVE to watch this movie if you have not already. It should still be instant on Netflix. Love it.

Dorkness Rising  The Gamers

There is a first one just called The Gamers, but I find the second slightly better. They are making a new one, but not sure when it will be out.

Another reason MN sucks.  Can't buy beer on Sunday.  My wife and I spent over an hour trying to find a liquor store just to have a beer.

I think that's optional. When I lived in Illinois, my gf and I would drive to that shop in Racine to shoot because she didn't have a FOID and Illinois wouldn't issue her one (she was here on a work visa).

And another reason it sucks.  It is against the law to sell alcohol in grocery stores, drug stores and convenience stores.  Of and don't forget 3.2 beer.  Stoopid laws.

Didn't know that. No beer at Viking games played on Sunday? Or is it just no carry-outs sold on Sundays? My daughter lives there, in Farmington, I've been there dozens of times in the last 10 years (my wife is there right now visiting the grandkids) but I've never tried to buy beer while there.

Had a brother who lived in the "cities" for a bit. When I visited we had to stock up a liquor store(nice place, selection). However, if we ran out on Sunday it was only a half hour to Hudson.. Had the same in Duluth, except the WI city was Superior. And being from the Milwaukee area, I almost shat myself then we could buy ANY liquor till midnight. No 9:00 pm hard liquor, midnight beer only crap.

You can buy alcohol at the games.  Hell why else would go to a Vikings game unless they were playing the Packers?  There's more Packer fans in MN than Vikings fans.  But that is another story.
Bars and restaurants sell alcohol on Sundays as well.  Just don't try to find an open liquor store, or for that matter a car dealer.  But then that's also another story.
