We're camping at Yellowstone Lake this next weekend over Memorial Day. At some point I want to get out to the range to sight in my AR and 10/22. I've never been there, so what can I expect over the holiday weekend? Will it be busy?
Any input appreciated. Thanks.

Saturdays and Sundays are always busy.

My observation is that Saturdays tend to be least busy from 7AM-10AM and then progressively gets busier and busier through the early afternoon. It gets less busy again around dusk. I'd recommend going early.

I have been there twice in the past 2 months, I have to say I was not impressed.
The plywood target stands were falling down and all shot up.  Bring some target stands if you can.

I prefer bringing target stands as well for the same reason. Never know what assholes with shotguns came by to destroy the target stands.

On Sunday, the 25 yd had one pc of OSB still up and 2 partials - about >1/2 remaining upright  the rest was shredded.

100yd range looked to have about 90% good backers still up.

I'd still bring a target stand.

I've been there a few times now.  Nice range.  I always go on a weekday to avoid the rush.  Early is good.
Last time I was there, there were some people who clearly didn't speak english engrish.  They could not understand they had to alert everyone when going hot for eyes and ears.  They cut my day short.

And that's the biggest reason why I won't go there anymore. Too many idiots with firearms.

We ended up going on Sunday morning. Range was not busy so we had a good time. Still getting stovepiping, though. I had replaced the extractor spring, buffer, and buffer spring. Happens about every 20 rounds or so. Suggestions?
