The wife wants to go to the Racine Zoo. Per their website they state that ..."Per Racine Municipal Ordinance 70-79, no persons except for police officers and other law enforcement officers are permitted to carry any firearm onto Zoo campus." I know Racine Ordinance 70-79 are pre ACT35 and have no bearing now but...

Even though you pay at an outside window and enter through a gate to get in...It seems like the last time I was there, last year, that we had to pass through the gift shop to leave...Is the Zoo posted? Is the only way out through the gift shop?

I think if you can manage to not shoot anyone while walking thru the gift shop, you'll be fine.

If you have to carry, .22 silenced. LOTS of targets of opportunity!!!

Would you be packing open or CONCEALED?
Just think about that.

So I've got two replies suggesting I break the law and another one from somewhere in la-la land? I know this is arfcom but...nevermind that would be a lie...truth is I really didn't expect any better.

I don't know if the Racine Zoo is posted, but I work about 6 blocks from there, so I will stop by on my way home from work today and see if it is posted outside the entrance.

And I like to check out my handy work, our firm designed the new entrance for the Racine Zoo.

Being from La la land, things aren't so bad. Mine was tongue in cheek.

I actually Googled shootings in zoos. The only thing I could find was on photography. This just might be one of those times to leave the pistol at home. Unless you think the lion or tigers or bears (oh my!) might get loose???? But typing that sounded harsh, who am I to say leave your pistol at home?

If you post a question where the only conceivable answers are going to be: break the law or don't, well, you're going to get those kinds of answers. And yes, this isn't GD, but some questions don't really deserve a whole ton of thought to answer.

I seem to recall I walked out the entrance or right near it is an exit, maybe I gave in and left through the store but I don't think I did.

We could do zoo stories like the time they were getting ready to drag the ponds in San Francisco Zoo for my body but I was OK.  I was outside the Zoo watching a gang fight.  The Streets of San Franciso, not just a TV show.

My first choice would be someone shoot the Gibbons.

Smoke schmoke, the little F'ers make a shit load of noise and are already up and running with the warm spring.  I will bury them in the garden next to the smoker or down on the beach.  But if I put them in the sand my Lab will just dig them up when we go down there.

I just stopped by, there wasn't any signage on the exterior of the building, at the ticket window, or on the gates that enter the Racine Zoo.  I can't comment on what happens inside though, as I was just walking around the outside of the facility.  They do try to exit you through the Gift Shop, but you can exit out the front gate as well without going through the Gift Shop.

Simple

Go to the ZOO entrance and if you do not see the correct ACT 35 signage posted.. enter and enjoy..

if you see a sign, you have three choices
A. Go back to car and leave pistol there.
B.leave and find another Zoo
C. You a big boy?? right.. You have choices in life.. so make one.

It's why  they call it "C-O-N-C-E-A-L-E-D.
