Hardcore ice fishermen.

They said they didn't get a call then later to save those guys that declined rescue.  So are they dead, did they have no problem getting off the ice, or are they still fishing?

On the St. Croix River (MN/WI) i've read many times people being charged for rescue operations.

I suppose its like paying for an ambulance when you need one.(which is quite expensive) Only makes sense.

I was just up there fishing last weekend.  The ice was shifting in the 30 mph winds.  We left and found a 1 foot crack about 60 feet from the shack.  Kind of freaky for my first bay fishing trip.  Caught great fish.

My buddy knew the guys who stayed.  They were on 4 wheelers and knew the ice would shift back.  The eight that were rescued kind of panicked.  When you are prepping to go fishing on the bay you have to look at wind conditions, forecasts and satelite imaging to be sure of where you are going...
