I thought corporate policy was to follow State law????   This looked like a hand made/printed "sign" using MS Word, etc instead of the usual professional signage I have seen at Ganders before.

Maybe I'm missing what part of all of this is new to you Cabelas and Gander have always had signs that told people to get the firearms secured as soon as they come into the store now that conceal carry is law they don't want to upset customers who might be confused and think they have to get there CCW guns secured when they get there.  I doubt they have any problem with anyone open carrying holsterd hand gun in there store but since the majority of the people wont they don't specifically exempt them from store policy to have all guns brought in to be looked at secured.  I can hardly believe a thread had to be started over this.

Appleton Gander Mountain obviously does have a problem with this as they are explicitly prohibiting the Open Carry of a holstered firearm....   You are obviously missing this point....

Gander in the Falls has the sign about checking in firearms at the door, and at the bottom of the sign, it says it doesn't pertain to CCW holders.

That is the standard corporate sign format.  This (Appleton Gander sign) is something some local store yahoo printed up themselves or had their 12 year old kid do for them...

I know what you meant. But, he was making it sound as if this isn't news, because Gander and Cabelas have signs to check in firearms, even CCW holders.

Somebody went out of the way to explicitly prohibit Open Carry.  It did not simply say that all holstered firearms must remain holstered, it explicitly prohibits Open Carry.   It explicitly states that the handgun must be concealed and remain concealed at all times.

You can't even keep your stories straight...  first its a sign simply stating no OC, now its something different entirely.

No...... I did not....
I did not post the exact text of the signage.   I made a true statement that they are posted concealed carry only.  I did not say in the OP that it  makes no other statements.  I went on to say that a Concealed firearm must remain concealed and in its holster.  Both are true statements and neither are exclusive of each other.
You know what they say about assumptions....

wouldnt want to see people who can legally carry guns..... go into a store that sells gun...

kinda like going into a car dealership... but not allowing you to drive your own car on the lot.....

or going into eyeglass hut but having to leave your bifocals in your car?

WTF?
