Well I just happened to be up in the Three Lakes area last night and just wanted to report to everyone you can all cancel your plans to goto WEASEL from now on.. As of about 7.P.M Last night it went up in flames... I swear I was only in the place once in my life and it was top notch but that was years ago.. |

I had never been but am still sad... looks like a winner. I've heard stories of the "establishments" further up north than my regular travels. Good stories. The Internet says the owner had been shot earlier in 2011 at his house in an armed robbery attempt... I'm less than 10 miles from Weasels. I could see the "glow" in the sky, as it was a raging fire with flames going up 50' or so, and I heard all the chatter on my scanner.... 5 fire depts were there. They're still calling it an "armed robbery" attempt at his house last year? Lots of rumors about other reasons for his being shot in the legs. Now this? Rumors will be flying again, I'm sure. I know the owner, and don't believe half the shit I've heard about him. It's been closed since after deer season, and was scheduled to re-open later this week. http://www.wjfw.com/stories.html?sku=20111231224100 Link has a photo, taken at the peak of the fire, by a customer at the supper club right across the highway. I haven't been by there since the fire, but I've heard there's just charcoaled walls left standing. Total loss. I doubt it will ever be rebuilt. |

The locals tend to drive em out and close em down as fast as they open. Was there once for a bachelor party years ago. Interesting. The girls were... friendly. And looked a lot like that face. But a good time was had by all. |

I have many pictures of my youngest son (now 21) standing in front of the Weasel's sign. Every year when we went up to Conover for "mens" week, we would stop and take a picture. It drove the wives crazy. That's funny!!! I'll have to start that tradition with the Badger with my son...lol |
