It is a long story about this AK. It is a vector and I have had 3+ years of trouble with one , they finally sent out a new one. This is the one I need work on, Will at red jacket was going to look at it and send it back(to Blaine at atlantic) if it was not up to par, I sent it to him and one of his guys called and said it looked ok and shipped it back to me. There is much more to the story but now I have it , Will is a movie star with no time and short memory and I have a "new AK". So far bullet guide rivet is in the way of cleaning rod so no rod will go in rifle and FSB is way out of whack or something causing FSB to need to be moved.
Rifle looks ok, but need to be able to sight it. The butchers at Vector bent the cleaning rod to go around the rivet and assembled the rifle around it. I guess I dont need to carry rod but this was built as a replacement for me. If Vector is still in buisness buyer beware I have 3 years of documentation of the ^%$# they pulled. They have no craftsmen working at the shop. So bottom line I need someone competent to take a look at entire weapon, repin FSB and refinish whatever may be damaged in process. Vector put a rear sight on it that I don't feel is "original" I am now wondering (as they had it assembled wrong) if the problem could be in the rear site(?) maybe notch wrong, built off center etc. Anyway any help would be great as I have shipped these things around enough to buy another one with those funds. Thanks for your help ! Anyone training at RCLRC I could use a partner. Maybe we could tunnel under the snow.LOL EDIT: I am begining to suspect the RSB being the trouble, but unsure. Dust cover goes on hard as it does not line up too well with the groove in the RSB. I know it could be dust cover or something else but this is why I NEED someone with some expeirience to look at it . |

Vector is having ongoing issues due to a federal investigation into a Vector principal's gov't ammo supply contract fraud. If you want local, go to Todd. The drive is WELL worth it. The only other AK 'smith I know at Todd's level is 2,000 miles south and west from here. Mike |
