My fiance and I are getting married this September, and we are looking for an officiant. We really want to keep our marriage ceremony non religious and all we can find online are Reverends and Pastors.
So I was wondering if any body knows of of anyone in the Milwaukee Waukesha Area that is a non religious officiant? Thanks |

If you would want to drive out to Dodge co., I'm sure that Flame could do it... he can do anything +1 Just be careful of his "all inclusive marriage". It means he gets to go on the honeymoon too.
And be sure to ask about the high roller package. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

We had a judge do ours, I would get you his info but cancer got the best of him. Call around, it's not uncommon for judges to do this. ETA. I've actually been the officiant in a wedding for a friend, but that was an emergency and I'm ordained so... Im sure She will go for that one " Hey Honey I found some one to marry us, I meat him on the internet his name is Jakethepimp " She would love that lol! |

http://www.themonastery.org/ Free, to get ordained. Get one of your friends to become a minister, and have him/her do the ceremony. I did this for my best friend last year, he had me sign the paperwork. And then I misspelled reverend, and I misspelled the county , on their marriage certificate, had to go to the courthouse the next day and make corrections. This is the cheapest route to go.

Strangely, there have been an unusually high rate of playground injuries these past few years...

I am an officiant and have done a few weddings here in WI. I was ordained online. There are a few places you can do it, but I would suggest only one because some of the others have had issues and their legality is a little fuzzy. The original/official Universal Life Church (not any of the offshoots legit or not) is THE place to do it. They've been the church to fight all the legal battles to justify their ordinations, and they have a lot of history. I wouldn't feel comfortable officiating a friend or relative's wedding being ordained anywhere else. It is still free and it is located at http://www.ulchq.com/ not themonestary.org. You may be OK with themonestary, but that is one of the tangent churches (there is a lot of information about this online if you want to read it over). If you go the route of having a friend getting ordained for your wedding, I would go that route.
Id do it myself, but I made a sort of rule that I wouldn't do any weddings for people I don't know pretty well. I don't really want to get into that business. I suppose if I didnt have a job I might change my tune. I know there are other officiants with ULC in WI that would do it for a fee though, so I could ask around. Also there are a lot of non-religious officiants for hire to be found at wedding shows, wedding web-sites, wedding forums, etc. |

Ours was done by the courthouse comissioner. Plain and simple, no bells or whistles. If you contact your clerk of courts/county clerk, they should be able to give you a list of the county judicial folks that can officiate a wedding, and can get you on their schedule. It's actually rather easy to do. No charge typically if it's at the courthouse, but offsite weddings I think have a small charge.
My father's wedding was officiated by Judge John Storke from Dodge County. If you're in his area, I'd definitly recommend getting in touch with him. |

I got ordained too.
Here's what you SHOULD do. All the WIHTF members get ordained. At the wedding, all the "ministers" stand up front, and each one says one word from the ceremony, and repeat, until it's done. Of course, they should all be lined up carrying a pistol on their hip. OK, a little weird, but hey, it's different!
|
| In WI, anyone can officiate. When you go to the courthouse to get the marriage license and list a non-approved person as doing the wedding, they just have you sign a piece of paper that says in effect, "you are aware that per WI law, only certian people can officiate a wedding, and the person you chose is not one of them, but we don't care and don't enforce the law." I just did that this summer and had a family friend officiate. |
