Has anyone voted yet?

I will vote in about an hour and a half, i figure.
11/2/2010 5:57:23 AM EDT
[#1]
Yup, on the way into work (working 9am-9pm so polls will be closed by the time I get out)....

#54 @ 08:15

I am waiting for 5 tonight, so Marianne and I can go in together.

She prefers it that way. And I'm ok with it. She rarely voted before we met. Now she never misses a vote!

Was voter #12 at our town hall around 7:05 AM.

Yup, went in before work.  Always educate myself and exercise my right and responsibility to vote.

I was Voter # 206 (9:05am) in Ward 33, Appleton.  The spikes with the little stubs for each ward were pretty darn full compared to the last election, no long lines like in 2008 though.

Going to vote in a few minutes................

Remember vote No or you must go!

Bye-Bye Steve Kagen!

Who should I vote for? Do you guys have any recommendations?
11/2/2010 7:30:20 AM EDT
[#8]
My polling place is the McCarty Park field-house/Pavillion in West Allis. I got there at eight. I was voter #150.

That's pretty huge turnout, even for the elderly retirees who are up at the crack of dawn etc. I don't think I've seen it that high at 8:00am even on presidential election years.

The woman in front of me, arguing that she should be on my ward's voter roles because she voted here in 2008, and giving the old ladies a few different names and spellings, almost as if she was fishing for any name that was on the list did not inspire confidence.

Fuck our non-ID/same-day registration voting laws. After CCW, and doing away with "double reporting", that's the first freaking thing they need to pass in the next session.

Straight Republican ticket, except if you live in Milwaukee Co. Then pick the Repubs out individually so you can switch to Democrat and vote for Clarke. His Republican opponent for the Milw. Co. Sheriff is a RINO, and just a union hack AFAIK.

Otherwise, what county are you in? That would help us a lot to tell you what's up in your area.

Vote early, vote often, was the Massachusetts slogan.

I think brown finger would be far better and more symbolic .

Walker for governor, the rest is more or less irrelevant. Walker might pull the state out of the pit its in. Barret will for sure send us on our merry way of being a bankrupt libtard colony like California.

Voted a bit ago in Sussex - number 347 and the place was pretty busy.  I hope they get voter ID passed soon.  Heck, I brought a couple forms of ID because I moved and had to register again - gal laughed when I brought out the passport, couple bills, etc to verify I am who I say I am.

Good bye Sen. Russ Feingold

Good bye Rep. Ron Kind

Hello Gov. Scott Walker

What was the deal with the question asking if there should be a change to the WI constitution about transportation transfers?

I voted No

By voting no, I believe you voted to give the powers to be the ability raid the transportation account to fund other programs (IE: high speed train, free stuff for the masses and gun ban advertising)

or I may be wrong.

I found the below explanation at the village of Summit's website.

Explanation of Referendum Question

This is an advisory Referendum. A “Yes” vote indicates that you support a constitutional amendment to prohibit using transportation user fees (i.e., state gas tax and vehicle registration fees) for any purpose other than funding transportation projects in Wisconsin.   A “No” vote would mean you are opposed to a constitutional amendment banning use of funds in the transportation fund for non-transportation purposes. Your vote on this question will not directly result in the passage or non-passage of a constitutional amendment, but is advisory only.

I voted yes

I voted this morning at the old one room schoolhouse #399.
11/2/2010 12:50:06 PM EDT
[#30]
I was voter #5xx at 3:30PM in my district (can't even remember my exact number). Voted at the National Guard Armory gymnasium. All four of the cities districts vote there.

There was an advisory referendum in addition to the regular ballot that kind of caught me off guard. Read about it here so you know what it's about (not all counties are doing it though). Thankfully I knew enough about Doyle's previous shenanigans to figure out that voting "yes" was a good idea:

Oh crap.  Did I miss something on a referendum?  I checked over the damn ballot two or three times.
11/2/2010 12:51:42 PM EDT
[#32]
Didn't see the referendum on the ballot.

#456 @ 2:30P

For reference, the entire population that the polling station serves is about 1200.  No clue how many registered voters, but I'd guess no more than 1k.

Only 56 counties are doing it.

In my county, it was a little pink slip they gave you along with the ballot. The pink slip went in a locked gray box with a slot in the top. The regular ballot got sucked in by the regular ballot sucking machine thingy.

There's a list of counties doing the referendum about halfway down this page:

The referendum was on the back of my ballot (Waukesha co.)

Per the advice of another ARF member, I downloaded the ballot Saturday and have been showing it others so we could be prepared when we got there (like we are for when zombies come).

FWIW, the next town over in Jef. Cty doesn't have it on the ballot.

Edit to fix board code.

I'm hesitant to say he already has it in the bag (I don't want anyone here using that as an excuse not to vote today!), but he is in very good shape from the looks of it...:

This is Wisconsin. Liberals can like guns too.

I voted yes on the referendum as well. If you're going to fund something you should do it the right way instead of stealing from speciality funds.

Voted republican, even though I hate them all, I really only wanted to get my vote in for Walker... the only thing I didn't vote republican for was Rock Co coroner (which is a BS elected position), in which I voted for Jared "The Subway Guy"... but he may be Republican, I dunno :D

Actually Duckhorn is a real Rupublican but he's not going to win.  If Duckhorn is a RINO as you say isn't Clarke a DINO?
