I just heard on the radio on the way home from work that a state measure to try to limit voter fraud was voted down last nite. I looked on the "JSOnline" website and couldn't find anything about it just now. Maybe a story source will pop up later today to confirm/deny reports. The measure had to do with people actually having to show a driver's license or state issued ID in order to prove they are who they say they are in order to cast a single vote.

Apparently the DEM's don't want people's ID's checked prior to voting. This new law might disrupt their voter fraud of having multiple people cast votes.

The only link I could find is from the Wall Street Journal But this doesn't really describe the new measure.

I'm headed to bed for a few hours. If something new comes up in the news I'll post the link later this afternoon.

It is comical how the dems will argue why requiring an ID is so horrible.

They do have a back-up plan though, why do you think they have been trying so hard to get illegals allowed to have drivers licences?  Once that is solidly in place, then they will have no prpblem of the requirement of showing the ID.

Surely if they are worried about showing ID disenfranchising people from excersizing their constitutional rights, they are against the need to show ID when buying a gun to excersize their second amendment right , correct?

Any other stance seems hypocritical .......

AFAIK, a Democratic sponsored bill that would have made vote fraud much easier died in the legislature a few weeks back when the session ended for the year. They wanted to allow all sorts of crazy shit, like allowing ACORN databases to be "proof" of legitimate voter records etc.

No.. SERIOUSLY.

The photo ID bills have been DOA since the '06 elections turned both houses of the WI Legislature. Hopefully we'll get them through, (along with CCW, balanced budget, TABOR, reinstate the QEO...) after this fall's elections.

What you have linked is just a ruling from the GAB that the power to make those kinds of changes lies with the legislature and governor. The system to present photo ID was voluntary anyway, making it worthless where the real fraud happens in the inner city etc.

I'd agree.  They should relax and yield their corrupt votes in the interest of being fair.  That won't happen.
