| I'm going to be staying over tomorrow night in Appleton for my daughter's basketball tournament, and we're going to have a lot of time to kill between games. Our hotel is in Appleton, and the games are in Neenah. Does anyone know of any good gun stores in the area that would be worth checking out? Thanks |
| Scheel's in the Fox River Mall is my favorite. There's a Gander Mountain on Westhill by the Marcus Theater and Woodman's grocery store. I don't really know of any small local shops to look at in the area. Precision Sports in Oshkosh is a good store too. They are off the EAA exit. Other than that I'm not real sure what to tell ya. | Scheel's has tac shotguns, AR's, Mini-14's and as of last time I was there one M1A. They don't have AK's or SKS's, which I think would be a good addition, but have a decent selection of goodies. If you like knives I'd also suggest Look Sharp. They're in one of the wings of the mall (kinda by Cinnabon). Lots of showy pieces like movie stuff, but SOME decent pocket knives. |

There's a place just outside of Oshkosh that's got a good supply of stuff, AR parts, NFA. Precision Sports. Been a year or two since I've been there though. If you're going through Fondy, there's Dunhams. They've usually got the generic Century Arms assortment. Prices vary from insane to dirt cheap. Picked up a bunch of wolf 223 for $3.50 on sale a year or so ago. |
