How about hearing from the resident cheesehead population about which local retailers are stocking 'stuff' at good prices? I shop around and watch the newspaper flyers and occasionally stumble on pretty good prices, or at least as good as what can be had online and without the shipping charges.
Here's what I've found recently: 600 rds of PMC .223 stocked at Cabelas in Richfield for $219.99. (was actually 2-300rd boxes for $119.99 ea, but after I showed them the 600rd deal on the internet they threw it all into one ammo box and gave me the lower price). I got the last two, but there should be more soon. Fed XM193F 5.56 for $7.99/box at Mills Fleet Farm in Antigo. Had about 20 boxes left. UltraMax .223 factory reloads (150 box) at Dick's in Grafton for $64.99. Not that great of a deal, but if you throw in the $10 off $25 coupon from this website (http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=1163277) they'll take another $10 off, bringing it to a halfway respectable price. Now, there's a bunch of talk about this coupon at that website but I've used about 10 of them and they have worked every time. It says it's not good on ammo, but I've used it on ammo and they have not cared. I just print a good copy of it on the computer and they have never turned me down. Can't guarantee it, but it's worth a shot. Well.......Let's here 'em. |

blains farm and fleet has Winchester 9mm 50 round boxes for $10 last week. also had 250 round boxes for $50
so i opted for one of each used a $10 off coupon http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=830553 at gander tonight. $13 for a box of blazer 45 dang those guys are $$$ |
| Wow, that Gander coupon is the bomb! Got a box of XM193 5.56 today for $1.99. I'll go back tomorrow, the next day, and the next day, etc. I printed them online and the clerk commented on the 'small' size of the coupon, then took it anyway. She showed me a real one, which was glossy heavier-type cardstock the size of a half sheet of 8.5x11 paper. I'm going to remove the Virginia mailing address from the next batch too. I guess some stores were handing out blank ones at the door. Thanks... |

| I haven't seen the latest Fleet Farm flier here around Green Bay but the west side store (Hwy 29/41) had a bunch of 50 cal cans last week for 5.99 and they were pretty clean. Also had a good 20 or so boxes of Federal Brown Box XM193 at 7.99 each. Also, at least 50-60 boxes of Wolf 55grn at the 4.99 each if interested. |

Not a single box of .223 at Fleet Farm in Oshkosh today. I'd shoot Wolf at a quarter a pop if my casings were going to wind up buried in the snow (which happens sometimes), but otherwise not. 3 for 3 on the GM coupon. I don't know what time you went but I was there around 4 pm and they had plenty of federal XM193 (?) think thats the right numbers for it. |

Hmmmmm...I was about a half a pot of coffee low at 8am yesterday, so maybe I missed the XM193? Definitely no $4.99 Wolf though. Thanks for the clarification. |

I was at Fleet Farm in Antigo this morning. .50 caL ammo cans were $4.59, and other than a bit of minor surface rust here & there (that wipes off with some steel wool & gun oil), they were in decent shape. Only took me about 2 minutes to pick out 4 good ones.
BTW.... No Wolf in either .223 or 7.62X39. They had the Federal .556 - X193 for $7.99... only about a dozen boxes on the shelf, but there was 2 more unopened cases of 1K ea, up on the top shelf. |
