Would that be an AOW or an SBR? Neither. It would be a post-sample MG if it were ever produced (it was a one-off proto that Magpul did). IF it were a semi, the FTB would have to classify it, and I'd guess they'd come up with SBR, just to get the extra $195. |

in semi only it would be a SBR It could also fall into the "gadget" gun category, like convertible radio or breifcase guns, both of which the FTB calls AOWs... i dont think it would cause im sure you would have to be able to fire it wile it looked like a flashlight....only breifcase aow i have seen with with mp5 in them and could fire wile the mp5 was hidden..never seen a radio one..if ya got a pic post it please but i could be wrong |

My guess is that FTB would go for the SBR. only breifcase aow i have seen with with mp5 in them and could fire wile the mp5 was hidden..never seen a radio one..if ya got a pic post it please
The original Stoner-designed ARES m9 (which the Magpul is based on) had a shell that was supposed to look somewhat like a radio, IIRC. There is a later (post ARES) version at the end of this page: Photos of Unique and Rare Firearms by Oleg Volk
Photos belong to Oleg, obviously. ETA: That's not to say that's what I was referring to, I just can't find a photo of the AOW I was thinking of. |
