That is because it was just confirmed. It is a brand spanky new one. Link |

If your looking for a cheap hotel. You might try WWW.WTCHAM960.com and look at there shopping show they normally have Hotel's in Iron River MI for a good deal. Just a heads up.. Long Lake is in the Nicolet National Forest. There's campgrounds all over the Nicolet, and "open camping" is allowed also (setting up camp virtually anywhere in the forest, outside of designated campgrounds). National Forest campgrounds in the area are Stevens Lake about 10 miles N-NW of Long Lake, and Chipmunk Rapids and Lost Lake about 10 miles to the NE. These are in the Florence Ranger District of the Nicolet.... Call 715 528-4464 for more info such as fees, reservations, etc. Besides being the opener of bow season, that weekend is also the grouse opener... and there's plenty of them in that area. I'm only 40 miles or so NW of Long Lake, but I'll be goose hunting the "early goose season" that weekend. |
| Anyone who is up there and likes steak should check out Alice's Restaurant in Iron River. They have a bone-in Ribeye on their menu that has no equal that I have found yet. It tastes like it is both marinated and has a dry rub put on it. Absolutely melts in your mouth. |
| Well, another successful Wisconsin Appleseed completed. Although everyone who was there Saturday got their share of rain on their heads, Sunday was actually a good full day of shooting. Only a couple periods of light sprinkles. This is a reminder that rain gear and a tarp for under your shooting mat are always good to bring along as precautionary measures if any chance of rain is in the forecast.
