Anyone know of a place to go shoot in the Madison/Verona area? My brother is currently in Med school at UW and is looking for somewhere to go. He feels all alone in that town...

Thanks for the link, but the closest place was 20 miles away in Barneveldt. There's gotta be something closer than that.

Another thought was to perhaps ask a local farmer if he could shoot on his property. I don't like the idea all that much, but he doesn't have many options. Not sure how one would go about asking a farmer to shoot on his property either...

Stoughton is the closest and one the the better ones around.
Winnequah, if I'm not mistaken, requires all new members to go with an elder member every time they want to shoot. It does have a 1000 yard range though and is $200 a year.
I personally go to Columbus because it has a 200 yard range, the least amount of shit to put up with, and is $100 for a family membership or $75 for a single membership.

But yeah, welcome to Dane Co.

Deerfield also has a indoor pistol and archery range if he wants to shoot those.

He is not alone in the liberal city there are many of us behind enemy lines.

Have him post on here and we can set up a time to go shooting.

We are also here behind enemy lines in Middleton. Come and visit anytime!

Two of us here are members at Winnequah. It's a very nice range. You need to go through a candidate process which is one work day and two club meetings. After that you get voted in and pay the yearly membership fee. Then you get a key and can go shoot. The indoor range in really nice! Also some great training opportunities too!

There is a free range down by Yellowstone park. It's just SW of Barnaveld. Probably 45min. from the west side. They have 100, 200 rifle ranges. 25, 50 small bore/handgun range, and an archery range.
