| Does wisconsin have a militia? I knew they had one that had some legal trouble and some arrests were made...what about now? |
|
Are you talking about the Posse Comitatus? I think they are dried up and gone......I rememeber the feds busted them up good in the 80's. Every militia in other states seem to have the same problems......fat ass "colonels" and "generals" that lead their fellow members into illegal crap and sometimes go nutz......drug use and dealing, trying to flex their muscles with local governments, illegally converted weapons, lots of overall sketchy shit. We try not to say "militia" or even think it very loud around here. Not worth the federal scrutiny, and even the Doyle led state agencies would likely move on you whether you were breaking the law or not. Best thing to do is be prepared, train, and mind your Ps and Qs. If you want to preserve your personal rights, it behooves you to conduct yourself as a solid citizen. Around here, we are just a bunch of well armed, decently trained, and very law abiding citizens who like to shoot and are ready to help each other and our neighbors if needed without any retarded "militia" BS. |
+1 Although it pains me that anyone has to refer to our duty as Americans as "retarded 'militia' BS". ^^^ Not directed at you, J. Rather it's sad when things become as corrupted as they have been. |
Well said. |

Posse comitatus is still around a bit, though not nearly as big as in the 1980's. Example--that couple in Portage, and their supporters, that put liens on county government officials, which was a classic P.C. tactic. +1 for being a community-minded, law-abiding, prepared individual. Makes my job much easier. |
Sure! Starting with your trunk. ![]() That, and I get to get together with you and play with neat toys that I will never be issued. BTW, official notice to everyone: After 10 years with my former agency, I'm now part-time with a new agency, having taken a different full-time job for an employer I am not allowed to disclose publicly. As far as you know, the FT job is not a sexy gig as a space shuttle door gunner.

Congrats! On advice of counsel, I will still decline to grant permission for a search of my vehicle, Officer. Also, since |
I'm afraid to go over there....if it's "retarded militia crap" I don't even want it in my cache or browser history.
|
That board is still going? I tried to log in a while back and couldn't get in.... |

As others have said, it is a sad state of affairs when being part of a "militia" it is automatically assumed that you are some kind of radical nutcase who wants to overthrow the government. It is a Constitutionally protected and mandated function, for goodness sakes. The big problem, if you want to call it that, is the way "militia's" have been portrayed in the past by the media. They constantly splashed across the tv the most lunatic fringe crackpots, and the implication is that anyone else calling themselves a militia is just as crackpot, and just barely on this side of the line between legal and illegal. As others have also said, I think it is best to just blend into the background while making sure you are prepared to defend yourself and family, and if you can help friends and/or neighbors, that would be good too. |

The Appleseed shoots are spreading a more pure messsage than some of the other groups out there... Your first duty to protect your Liberties is to contact your elected officials and get involved in Local, State and Federal politics to make sure those elected are looking out for our best interests and that the public is educated enough to elect those kinds of people who work toward preserving our Constitution which our Founding Fathers penned not treating it like an ever changing document subject to relativism type interpretations...... There is no such thing as a militia of 1 if you are alluding to armed resistance. A single person can make a difference in other ways though..... |

Stay low under the radar to avoid waking up and seeing a A.P.C in your fount yard ' target='_new'>

There's no such thing as an Army of One either. It's a metaphor about strength, preparedness and personal responsibility.
Armed resistance to what? I'm not alluding to anything, I copied that quote off the www. c361 Stan |
| Technically, we are all in the militia. A militia is a group of citizens that can be called up to defend the state when needed. This means fighting badguys or filling sand bags at a levee. I consider myself a modern minuteman since I would gladly lend my skills, strength and arms to defend my community. |
