Hey Guys -

Been awol for a couple of weeks.  Still waiting for Sully over at Defensive Edge to tell me my SLR15 commander has shipped.  Hopefully soon he

I saw on a website ammuntion of 5.45x39 vs 5.56x45 (the latter is what I'm used to seeing).  What is the difference between these two and can I shoot the 5.45x39?  The 5.45 is .004 inches smaller in diameter.

Thanks for the help.  Dazed and confused (again)

What he said.  It sure would be nice, though, since the 5.45 is going for about $125/1000, as opposed to .223, which is 3-4 times that.

Even if you could, it would be interesting too see how AR would do with corrosive ammo. All surplus 5.45 is corrosive.
