I'm selling my saiga to a guy there in Wisconsin, but his dealer says he needs a copy of my driver's license. I know I have to send my rifle to a dealer, but I didn't think I had to send him anything besides that.
Is this a state law for Wisconsin?

Quoted: IIRC it isn't a state law, but the dealer has to record where he got the gun from. The dealer doesn't need your DL, but they do need your name and address.

True. The FFL must log your name and address in his bound book. That is the requirement.

Some FFLs go the extra mile to cover their asses when it comes to doing transfers. I always enclose a copy of my driver's license when I do a transfer with an out of state FFL. I see no harm in it.

I've never sent ID, other than the return address label. Some FFL's want it, some don't.

Thanks for the clarification. That makes sense now.
