Does anyone know the best place to buy a new or used AK within 30 miles or so of Milwaukee? I think it's time I give one a try! I'm looking for the best bang for my buck...LOL

Thanks buddy. That's the kind of info I'm looking for too. Since I don't know jack about them I don't want to spend a ton on the first one..just in case! Now where do I get me one local??? How much is cheapo?

Dunhams seems to have the best store prices in general. Make sure you get one that takes a double stack mag, not the lame single stack.

I don't know what gun show prices are like lately, since I built my AK and have kits for 2 more.

I went and checked out the WASR's at Dunhams. The low cap one's are $260.00 and the high cap ones are $350.00. The wood looks really nice. These are Yugo's. Is this a good price or should I wait until they have a sale. The guy said the low cap ones get down to like $220.00 when on sale.

WASR isn't a Yugo, it's Romanian.

The cheapest I have seen the high caps at Dunhams is $299 but mostly $329 every other week.  You can get a single stack and convert it to double stack by reading the instructions in the AK-47 forum.  At the last gun show the high caps were selling for $350 min so Dunhams is definitely the way to go.  Just make sure that the site is straight when looking down the barrel as some are slightly canted and make it tough to get it sighted in.

Yugo's are nice but don`t have a chrome lined barrel if that matters to you. WASR`s have a chrome lined barrel. -Todd

$350 is not a bad price but I`d wait for a sale, unless you can`t wait til then. -Todd

Are you serious? I asked the guy at the counter yestarday when they would be on sale and he said he didn't know.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.
