Does anyone here, in the sandbox, or otherwise, have a good quantity of MRE matchbooks lying around that they don't want anymore??  Is there anyone coming home on leave that can horde a box full and bring them back??  I like to keep them in kits for hunting and camping and such seeing as they are somewhat waterproof/resistant. I am out of newer ones and I like to rotate stock.

I've been looking for strike anywhere matches high and low. It seems nobody has them anymore.

Thanks for the other links guys. I had no idea that there were matches that light underwater. I also usually have a disposable lighter, but they can get wet and not work. I've got this Elk trip I am going on in the fall and I want to be prepared.

None how many mre's do you eat?

depends on if the wifey is home or not, much easier to heat up a MRE than to actually make a meal for one. If the daughter is home with me, I will make some supper but most of the time not if it is just me. Kinda pricey but it saves me doing dishes lets me relaxe and enjoy the silence of no wife or kid chattering away. Don't get me wrong I like being around my family but they are NOISY when they want to be.

ETA clip one of  these on your pack and call it good. For what you want it for I would not bother with matches, mag sticks are light weight, cheap, and always work not to mention they will not blow out if you are trying to light a fire in a wind.

How many are you looking for?  I used to save them when I was overseas just in case lighter broke, but I should have about 10-15 packs?  Where abouts are you in WI?
