Allow me to introduce the latest non-PC item I've acquired: Lauer Predator suppressor. Bought from Dave at The Gun Garage (thanks for the great service!). I went with a Predator after hearing Photoman's (thanks for letting me try that). I had Lauer do the threading, which was a mistake. Very, very fun. But it's a little weird to shoot real ammo without earmuffs. I have to remind myself it's not a BB gun.

| I've seen several instances of Lauer's business practices & they sure aren't up to those of a reputable business. One of the most egregious examples was when Weaponeer tried to do a group buy with them. Lauer doesn't seem to have their act together logistically or ethically. Sad. They could provide good products & services for the firearms community. |

Nice toy there glenn. You travelled all the way up to Ashland to get that? Isn't there anywhere closer? I have decided to set up a trust and possibly liquidate some of my "collection" to finance an SBR and a can. Do we have a list of dealers that deal in that kind of stuff in WI that I can reference to know where I can get a can? |
Probably, but Dave provided advice & feedback for a year while I played with the idea and saved money. Even more importantly, I've seen his work, met him, and seen what kind of person he is. He's earned my business and I'm going to spend more money with him...when I can, anyway. I hope to have him do some refinishing for me at some point too. Besides, it's a pretty drive and my wife was at work anyway... I guess I like sticking with dealers I know, and give them as much business as I can. Like my local FFL, who's a great guy. Cuts me a break, too. Probably because of the volume Did I mention that Lauer will never see another penny of my money?
That would be sweet, wouldn't it? But centerfire cans cost real money.
Excellent! I can rest easy knowing I've done my good deed for the day |
It is easy to forget the power of the cartridge when shooting suppressed and get careless I tend to keep reminding people that I take out for demos.Glenn, As always, thanks for the kind words! I enjoyed BS-ing at my shop, but really hope to make it back "down South" for another class with you guys. I probably have a few toys I can bring..... Cheers, Dave |

NICE... I'm doing my part to bring one more to WI, vis-a-vis the great long-distance MAC purchase... No, not a computer - but it casts about as much now... I just couldn't let the price get any higher... No can on that one, but I will be correcting that excessive (and expensive) rate of fire... |
