Board meeting today decided that no explosives of any kind can be used by civvys.

Tannerite is NOT to be used at RCLRC any more.
It will be treated the same as shooting glass targets.

One infraction and you are no longer a member.

That is all.

unfortunate. what was the reasoning behind this decision?
I recall hearing about someone being able to hear it who lived in south Milwaukee??
is that even possible? from what i saw at the shoot, it was all done with safety kept in mind at all times.

To many complaints If we have to choose between the range or the Kabooms I was kind of expecting this.

This a concern of mine as well but we will just have to stand our ground and make sure we cross all our T's and dot all the I's and not give them a reason to take anything away.

Guess the other option is threaten to quit if you don't get your way.  Seems to be the route that gets the most attention.

This is just an opinion from the outside looking in.

Damm it is cold outside

First it's the Tannerite, then it's the "run and gun", next will go the rapid fire, then no more than one round in the firearm....

See where I am going with this?

Actaully we got approval to be able to have a dedicated practice session twice a month, and there will be run n' gun stuff with that.

But I do get where yer going and that is always(and has always) been in the back of my mind.

Agreed, the reason I enjoy RCLRC so much is that these things are not "restricted" when done in a safe manner. It will be very unfortunate if our club turns out like the majority of clubs out there who implement these kind of rules.
That being said, what does it take to have a "influence" within the club?
I am only a measly new member, but I really want to see this club last as it is the best range I have ever been shooting at.

edit: when will the practice sessions be?  I know 3 other guys who will most likeley also be interested in this(they are all club members as well)

Like I said before keep what we are doing clean and infiltrate the system.  Power in numbers more people have to come to the meetings and be seen I think that will send the message of we are not going away and we give a sh!t what is happening at the club.

You guys are going to have to do like I did.  I got elected to the board of directors at my club 2 1/2 years ago so I can help to ensure that bullshit doesn't pass without a fight.

I hear you we do have a good BOD they did what they felt best for the club. Plus there was friendly advice to back it down a bit at least twice so no one can bitch they knew what could happen.
Im on the board and VP don't have to run again for two years except for VP I have no ill feelings on my fellow board members myself and one other voted no but again they did what they had to do and people did get at least two to three suggestions to cut back how many and when they do them.
Shit I only have shot three ever

Negative, GhostRider ... Negative.

Good folks are trying to balance their obligation to manage a facility in EVERYONE's best interest against our desire to have a good time in a legal fashion.
The folks who made the decision would prefer to let us do as we please ... things got a bit out of control and they ARE charged with the responsibility of keeping a lid on things.

No bad blood, just bad news.
