I never thought ANY gun was indestructible.. Chances are the reason you see more of a certain model Pistol go Kaboom more then other's is simple statistics.  I believe their are more Glock's out their and being shot more often then probably a lot of other models.

And  Crotalus.....you need to clean your Pistol more often........

Agreed, I only learned how to completly disasemble this gun reciently and this was found during such disassembly and cleaning. Most of that came about while the gun was outside in Tx humidity and rain for a week im sure "but i wont go into detail as to why" But I even admit i have beaten that gun, carry daily for at least 12 years, sweat all over it, packed with sand/dust that field cleaning abviously didnt remove, 10 mins in the bottom of a river after i fell during a crossing "came out of holster" I have run it dry more times then i care to admit. But yes for being my fav gun i surely didnt treat it nearly as well as my hunting weapons.

But without doubt learning to completely disassemble this gun was an eye opener and now need to find how toos for my others

other then the rust and corrosion, nothing still functions great and fires. But I will need to replace those parts. all that abuse and not one jam, stove or misfire with well over 5k rounds through it

only wish i could say that with a few other guns i own

Ain't broke, don't fix it.

By the thread title I thought this was about a kaboom or something. Looked at the pics like WTF it's a dirty gun as long as it still goes bang and functions, big shit.

Speaking of, I have to spend some time cleaning my AR tomarrow the barrel is looking pretty ugly

Oh my GAWD that thing is downright dangerous in it's present condition.
DON'T SHOOT IT ANY MORE !!!

Hand it over to me for safe disposal ... before someone gets hurt.

Why take the chance?

Just talked to glock, The service rep was a little shocked at what i described as well. He said to send it in and he will take care of me.

I dont care what you say very few companies at all let alone gun companies would do this for 14 year old product. Screw the glock haters this is a da*n fine gun/gun manufacture

OK, I checked out a few of those pics....but I'm not seeing your point.  I don't see any severely broken pieces.

None of them are broken, the gun still operates and fires fine.  It is just very uncommon for glocks to rust like that

I put another 100-150 rounds through it yesterday, Though i did have an ammo misshap that scared the holy crap out of me and a few others at the range im sure. Its things like that, to remind us to stick to proper range practices.

Anyway im going to give it a good clean and off to GLOCK it goes this week. After putting a few more rounds through my PX4 i feel comfortable enough to carry that until my baby gets back home

What happened?

lol NO not a kaboom.

Brough gun up / trigger pull / nothing happens, bring gun down to waist level and as im reaching for slide to clear "supoposed missfire" the round goes off.  round hits about 10-12 feet in front of us in a 10 oclock directiion "12 being directly down range" Thank everyones god no one was forward of the line.

Needless to say this is a first for me and definatly brough me back to range practice 101 in a hurry

Was new WWB and went through easy 600rds of it that day through my glock and all henrys toys

after doing that ammo count last night i remember i did have some PMC ammo that has to be 5 years old. Depending on which mag i was shooting it might have been this and not WWB -- im really not sure

You guys have seen the thread about what Bigbore has put his Glock through haven't you?

Based on that, I'd say yours looks just fine.

well i got my g19 back today from a few weeks at GLOCK inc. Have to say i am very very pleased. all internal parts were replaced "ALL OF THEM" including the magazine and new sights. Also shipped back to my in a new case with owners manual.

All at NO cost, not bad for a 14 year old gun
