Have you seen this man?

I've claimed that small towns have similar crime rates as big towns, per capita.  Fewer crimes occur because the population is smaller, but happens roughly the same number of times per capita.  I wish I was wrong.  At least we haven't had a dice shooting incident yet...

It really disturbs me when people hurt kids.
I don't believe they can reform.
The recidivism rate is horrible.
Swift capital punishment is the answer.

Sorry to hear that you have real trouble out there.

Man Allegedly Admits Raping 12-Year-Old

POSTED: 7:43 am CDT July 25, 2005
UPDATED: 7:54 am CDT July 25, 2005

A 34-year-old married father who confessed to kidnapping and raping a 12-year-old Reedsburg girl is expected in court today.

Sean Youngs was arrested without a fight at his rural Sauk County home in the township of Freedom at about 6 a.m. Friday. He told detectives, while high on coke, he took a friend's 12-year-old daughter, at knifepoint, from her family's downtown Reedsburg apartment Wednesday afternoon, News 3 reported.

Her hands were bound and she traveled in the trunk of Youngs' car to a rural field where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted for 18 hours. Youngs says he freed the girl in a wooded area.

She found her way to the home of Sharon Saladis, who came to the girl's aid.

"Basically, she arrived at my house, said she had been abducted from her home and needed help," Saladis said. "She was crying and, you know, I tried to be strong, but it's hard to see someone in that situation so young and innocent to be taken from her house. It was sad."

Investigators said it's very lucky the girl was not killed. Youngs has a prior arrest for sexually assaulting a child in New York state in 1993.

If convicted, he faces 160 years.

He should have been legally executed then.
People who do sick things to children do not have the capacity for reform.
I'd like to know that the judge, jury and prosecutor form the previos case, as well as the parole board who let him out, and the prison shrink who said nice things about him were all made to sit and watch a tape of the girl telling her story so that they might not make the same mistake again.

Doesn't seem to be a deterent, does it?

I would never openly advocate illegal violence, but as a juror who understands the power and responsibility of civic duty, I would never convict someone of vigilante action against the accused, as the laws prohibiting such activity would be misapplied in my opinion.

Very very sad ...... she'll be fucked up forever.
My heart goes out to her and her family.

I'm going to stop updating this thread after this post, but I'll bet you all know what this guy's plea is going to be...

Wife Of Man Accused Of Raping Reedsburg Girl Pleads For Help
'If She Could Please Just Find It In Her Heart To Forgive Him'

POSTED: 10:11 am CDT July 26, 2005
UPDATED: 10:51 am CDT July 26, 2005

The wife of the man accused of abducting and raping a 12-year-old says her husband is a good man -- when he takes his medication.

Kelly Youngs shared her concerns about her husband with News 3 Monday as Shaun Youngs appeared in Sauk County court on upgraded charges.

"I feel really bad for her, what happened," Kelly said. "And I'm sorry. If she could please just find it in her heart to forgive him. And to just help us get him into a psychiatric center and get him the help he needs."

Shaun Youngs, 34, an unemployed asphalt worker was in court in a bullet-proof jail outfit. The crimes, which authorities say he has confessed to, have outraged many, and deputies are concerned for his safety.

Authorities say that Youngs, who has two children, ages 4 and 8, has admitted to detectives he kidnapped the Reedsburg girl from her home at knifepoint last week and held her for 17 hours. He tied her hands, put her in his truck, drove to the country and repeatedly assaulted the girl, who is the daughter of a friend, authorities said.

He eventually released her on a rural road. Sauk County District Attorney Pat Barrett called the crimes horrific and said Youngs is a risk to the public. She asked for -- and got -- a $225,000 bail.

Kelly Youngs, Shaun's wife of nine years, blames the crime on mental illness. She said he was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder five years ago, and he began acting strangely when he stopped taking his medication three months ago.

Kelly Youngs said their children need their dad, and she hopes her husband can come home soon.

"This is not my husband," she said. "He would not hurt a child. He's a loving person. He wouldn't do this. He just needs help. He's never hurt my own children."

Shaun Youngs faces seven charges, including child enticement, which carry a maximum sentences of 260 years in prison.

No dice, lady.
Off with his head.

Hey Glenn,

How many sherrif's deputies does it take to throw Youngs head first and handcuffed from a ninth story window?

NONE! .................. He Slipped.

Yeah, but I can guarantee he won't be falling out of a ninth-floor window.  This is Sauk County--we don't have any buildings that tall

Seriously, though, why is it "not guilty" by reason of mental defect?  Shouldn't it be "guilty" by reason of mental defect?  This is seriously wrong.

Final thing:  Richland Center had a murder yesterday.  City of 5,000, supporting my thesis of small towns having similar crime rates.  I don't have any inside knowledge of the murder--just what I heard on news radio this morning--but it was at a pallet factory.  I'll bet a round of drinks it was over a girlfriend.  If I'm wrong about that, it was over a drug deal.

Drunks, drugs, and domestics.  Take those away and I'd be unemployed.
