| If you are serious about a shoot, getting people to come should not be a problem. We were up to near 200 people attending the last large WI hometown forum shoot with contests and prizes. It took a few years to build up to that number but the point is that we have alot of shooters in the State. The Roasted Nutz shoot thread is still pinned |

| Calguns transplant in Sheboygan last OCT. Been trying to find public land to target shoot on but looks like you can't do that on DNR land. Nice paved roads to DNR land, makes me wonder how heavy the hunting pressure is on those areas. Restart the scouting and relearning migration patterns of ducks, geese, dove, squirrel, deer for a new area all over again sucks. |

I have been checking in with this website reading and enjoying. I realize I never posted to the hometown section.
Grew up in Wisonsin, spent sone time long ago traveling the world with the Army (3/9 Scout/Snipers... Manchu... back in the light infantry days). Now call Middleton home. |

I bought a near retirement house near Minocqua and I am in the middle of a move from the stinking desert. Been down south for about 7 years now. Joke is on me, as a humid summer in the north woods seems hotter than 98 degree days in the stinking desert. I can run a swamp cooler around the clock in the desert for a dollar a day, where I need to thing about starting the AC in WI. I have family roots in WI. Mom took me through Marshfield pointing out buildings or companies my Grandpa was involved with as part of the family lore. One thing I don't like about WI is you have to assume every square inch of the state is owned by someone who WILL assert his private property rights. There is no assumption that undeveloped land is owned by the feds, state, or county/borough you can hike through. |
