Anyone know of any range preservation or protection laws? a local range i go to is being threatened. Some people bought land next to a shootign range, and now they want the range shutdown. OF course, the range was there first. The RO was somewhat irrtated. He's a real nice guy, but never used a computer in his life. I told him i'd look into it and see what i coudl all find. |

I think that about sums it up. I hate people who move in close to a range they knew was there, bitch about the noise, and then demand it be shut down. Tools. |
True, but slight problem there. THat statute only excepts noise. IF the property owner gets a slug in their house, they can more than likely get it shut down. |

Well now.....I would have to put that on the "ghey" level for a couple reasons. 1. Mr. Imadumass builds his house some distance behind the birm....his fault, but if I'm understanding you right, the range can still be shut down, if a projectile happens to sneak over the birm. 2. The range in question, the property is to be built beside the range, not behind it. Get a yahoo out there spraying indistriminanty, you'll have a problem. Any other responsible gun owner you shouldn't have to worry about holes in the house. 3. Far fetched, but a possibility....."God I hate that range so much, I'm going to shoot MY OWN house and blame it on them!" I would not put that past some people to do that. |

Where is this range located? We had a similar problem in Fond du Lac. Richie Riches built a swanky subdivision near my range...after the first fall of sighting in, they threatened legal action to close us down. One of our mmembers ( a lawyer)offered his legal service for free. One letter from him and that was the last we heard from the rich folks. |

Wisconsin Dells. It's a nice place.... out in the middle of nowhere.. .a short drive from the dells. RO lives on site, and he's a really nice guy. $15 a year for a 50, 100 and 200 meter range. also has a separate 25m pistol range. The nice thing is, the WI Dells police use this range as to train at. So it's gonan be hard to shut it down. But they might try pulling some "police only" shit. I told the RO i'd find as much info as i could. He's not very technologically advanced, but could put together an M1 blindfolded. with one arm behind his back.
