So, will someone please give me a brief synopsis of the finicky Denver carry laws?  Like can we CCW in Denver proper, what is the mag size limit (I only care about HG's here, not rifle info), etc.  I've searched here (still can't for the life of me figure out how this site's search works   ) and on handgunlaw.us, but am not coming up with a lot.  There was a brief sentence or two about how Denver won a case for the mag limit even tho Colorado says something different.  Pretty confusing to me right now.

References are appreciated.

and as usual, THANKS!

If you have a valid CCW in the state or from a state that is compatable...your're fine. And all your over 15rd mags were in your possesion before 1 July 2013 right? Denver doesn't -------    allow      (Edit)    open carry.

Denver doesn't allow open carry, more than not liking it lol.

If you have a valid permit you're good for ccw, the city doesn't like it but has to recognize a permit issued in any Colorado city/county or reciprocal state.

New CO law is that you can't buy a >15rd mag but you are G2G if you already had one before the law went into effect.  Denver has a 20rd limit on mags so even if you had one legally before 1 July you couldn't bring it into Denver if you moved there.  I think I read that if you live outside of Denver and travel into Denver for whatever reason with a >20rd mag you are fine as the law only applies to Denver residents.  I'll have to ask my wife to take a look at the laws (she's a lawyer) to see if this is accurate.

Long story short I wouldn't move into the Denver city limits, stupid laws, liberals, crime, and terrible schools

sorry for the late reply, I didn't seem to get an email noting the replies....

I have a CCW from elsewhere in Colorado, so if what you are saying is true, carrying HG which holds 17 rnds is fine regardless.  I had thought they were less than that, but if 20, then I should be fine.  Perhaps the wife can confirm.

thanks!
