I resigned from a full time position I had last week.
Unfortunately I wasn't even breaking even, nevermind being profitable!
I was doing life insurance sales for a company in Ft. Collins for the past 14 months. 100% commission with no real benefits was hard, especially with a 1yr old I was averaging 80hrs a week with January being the worst averaging 108/week.

I have a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC and I've got my resident Life & Accident and Health licenses but I think I'd like to pursue something in Oil and Gas here in Weld Cty (I live in west Greeley).

I'm open to relocation, probably not too far though as I will be commissioning into the Colorado Army NG in October. My unit is out of Buckley.

I'm a little frustrated and just needed to get it off my chest. A few of you have known about my job struggles this past year and I thank you for the support.

Are you looking to get into the industry and do field work on a rig, drive commercially, things like that? Or do you want to get into the behind the scenes/office type stuff?

My wife has been in the industry for over 7 years, i could see if she has some suggestions for you.

Good luck, that sounds like a brutal amount of work you put in for not a lot of results.

This is in Lakewood, so would involve relocation.  Open until Friday.  USDOT Human Resources

Ain't that the truth. All I know is I would need a Class A, I've never looked into it beyond that. Got any tips or insight?

I don't mind getting my hands dirty and working in the sun but I tend to think I'd be worth a little more on the business end. That being said, I have no issue starting at the bottom either - out in the field, hauling pipe, swinging chain; as long as there is room for meaningful growth.

Please do talk to your wife, I could even email you my resume if she would be willing to float it around.

Relocate shelocate. I live in greeley, my office was in FoCo and I drove to Pueblo to see clients 5 days a week in the afternoons. I was logging like 8,000 miles a month
Thanks for the lead though, I'll pursue it!
