| My brother lives in Denver. Where is the best place for him to buy an AR? |
|
There's a gun show off of I70 and Chambers today/tomorrow, and there were plenty of ARs there. Some of the guys who don't have local shops in the metro area usually show up for the shows, so that's one idea. I can't speak for everybody, but I've felt comfortable dealing with machineguntours and arms authority in the past...
Otherwise, Jensens up North is pretty good for an AR shop. I'm assuming he's looking to buy a full gun and not put something together himself (which would be more fun...)? |

Yes he wants to buy a complete gun. I have all the tools to put an Ar together but i live in FL. |

I know it's not the best place, but strolled into gander Mt just to see.
They had probably 15+ ar's. I haven't seen that many ar's in 1 place in forever. He had probably 5 under $1k bush and dpms, 4-5 smith mp15 was $1100, 1@ mp15 tactical was $1600, they had the ruger ar, seemed pretty nice, kinda high $$, wanna say more then the mp15 tact. he had a lot of les baer, they were all tagged @ $2200!! Some prices seemed ok for a gun shop, some, high. |

5280 Armory is the place I've seen with the most AR selection in town. They have a good selection of AR parts/accessories too. They're in Arvada and have a website... just google it for directions. They're not open every day of the week and will commonly be closed to sell at the gunshows. Use cash, otherwise they will charge 3% extra for credit card purchases. Nice people and are willing to spend time with someone who may have a lot of questions.
Green Mountain Guns in Lakewood is a good place too. I've heard Prarie Arms is a good place, but have never been there. Otherwise, go to the gunshows. |
