Anyone use Comcast for internet, home phone and cable TV? I’d like to hear your thoughts on their services.

Thanks.

Good service, decent price...digital cable, phone and internet for $120 a month or so...when we went digital we had them send the boxes so we could install ourselves...all the boxes were bad in some way (hardware faults or connection issues) so they sent an installer the next week who took the boxes and installed a bunch of new ones...sometimes service goes out in the middle of the night, but its back by morning...

Good service, expensive imo.

I have the most basic internet which doesn't even include the speedboost. Then i have the expanded digital with DVR and HD. My bill is $132.xx a month which i find to be pretty high. But the service has been good, darn near 100% uptime with the net, and the TV has never gone down at all. Every now and again the guide won't work, but the channels still will.

Thanks Ben.

I'm looking at the Triple Play package they are currently offering.

I had one of the best Customer Service Experience ever the other day with them.  I am decreasing my cable service to save some money.  My normal bill is around $200/month for cable, internet, and phone.  I pulled all the movie channels and got rid of three boxes.  The next month my bill was $384.  So I called and after some difficulty in translation from the CS rep who knows the bills to me who looks at the bills and the billing process as if it was written in some martian language, I asked how can my month to month bill be $200/month for a year straight then go up when I cancel some service.  She tried explaining it is how we bill, ahead of use, not what you've used, but what you are going to use.  I asked, but if I did nothing to my service, my bill would have stayed at $200 correct, she said yes and that's when it clicked.  She put me on hold, then came back and said they were going to refund almost $200 on my next bill.  I was shocked.

But anyway I have always liked cable over dish, just having that stupid thing on my house is annoying.  Never had any problems with service, internet is fast and phone service is good.

My family lived in Aurora for 6 months and we struggled with Comcast the whole time. I bet they were out to the house once a month for something. It really was a struggle dealing with them and the product they were providing.

Maybe not all was bad but the phone service was probably the worst part. For what it cost it should be better.

The only real issue we had with them was the phone service was really funky and inconsistent...turned out to be a damaged phone line stapled to the side of the house...they cut that piece off, placed the primary phone (wireless satellites throughout the house) and now all is well...

i'll give you my opinion later today. our bill is right around $90.00 per month for cable only. that incl HBO and the pkge where we are able to get the sci-fi channel.
HOWEVER after talking to a tier 1 (knows nothing!) he says our bill is only $58.00 per mth??? i'm like if thats so what are these consistent $90.00 bills
the biling dept operates mon-fri. we shall see

The billing Dept. knows Jack Diddly...we have coupons for 1 free On Demand movie each month...send them in with each monthly bill, and at the next bill we still have to call and get them to take last month's movie off the bill...

Had no idea that Quib lived in CO.

We had Comcast cable and internet at the old place.  We got the speed boost b/c we had cable with them.  Download speeds were consistently at least 6-7m through the wireless router.  Even faster w/ a wired connection.

We have Quest DSL  and Direct TV now after the move.  This is my download speed now.

After the contract is over, I'll definitely go back to Comcast.  It's worth a little extra IMO.

They have been pretty good but as of late the Internet has been so so slow. They did come out and check it a few times, the last time they came out they just said "don't know what's going on" so they just re wired the main line to the house.Been working better since then at least.
They have been pretty good but the big thing is go to the local office once in a while to pay the bill, shoot the breeze with the teller...I go in there a few times a year and they give me free deals. The last time I went in they gave me the sports tier for free,I don't know for how long but it's been 4 mo.time before they split my tv bill in half for 6 months and before that they gave me the half price deal on internet for 6 mo.On top of that if I have bad service I've gone down there and talked to them and received a books worth of free movie vouchers (I have more than I know what to do with).
At one point the woman told me if you come in once in a while they can/will give you deals (you don't even have to ask, just be friendly). She said the phone is so heavily monitored that they can't do anything but the offices are a different ball game.

Here's my Comcast test done tonight.

BTW, I looked at the triple play but I decided to just keep the cell phones instead.  We dumped the hard phone lines when we got Comcast Cable some 4 years ago and I haven't missed them.  We saved a bunch on the deal and in addition, Comcast gives you McAfee Security Center (anti-virus, anti-spam, etc.) for free.

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm still undecided at this point.

Those speed tests aren't a true indicator for Comcast. They have their speedboost feature which throttles a download for the first 10mb. Their basic service is a 6/1mb tier and goes up from there.

I looked at our bill and we pay $125/mo for the following:

Digital HD Cable w/120gig Dvr/hdtv box.  $81.62

* Programing Package is Std Cable (basic & Expanded basic) + Preferred Package (preferred channels, digital music [tons of channels I listen to a lot], program guide, PPV access, digital converter, and remote)

6mb High Speed Internet  $42.95

* HSI Bundled service

BTW, I talked to them recently and all of the internet service is 'Power boosted' and it did increase when they turned it on about a year ago.
