| We are planning a vacation. What should I expect for weather in the Grand County the second week of October? |
|
You can get anything from Indian Summer to blizzards. No joking at all. You can go from 80 and sunny to 20 with a foot of snow in three days or less at that time of year. It's happened here on the front range a few times, and the unpredictability is worse in the mountains. If you flyfish...who the hell am I kidding? I'm so unsuccessful that I shouldn't be giving advice. |

We used to expect the first big blizard in October. But after Cheney screwed up the weather with his weather machine, and Al Gore had to step in, its anybody's guess. In Colorado if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes or drive ten miles. It will change. |
I've hunted elk at that altitude in high top Converse football cleats and a tee shirt. The next year I was hunting the same spot in a parka, snow paks and 12" snow. ![]()
Well, it'll be dry. Or rainy. Or snowy. Pack for all three. |
