Yep, I made it here last Wed. evening.
It was a hell of a ride from Baltimore. The only part that was really bad was running into three really bad storms in MO and KS. I think two of them turned out to be tornadoes.

That delayed my trip about a full day.

I am very glad to be here. I haven't had a chance to get out because as soon as I got here I had to go to the ER for sever pain in my eardrum. Turns out my whole ear canal, and left side of my face is swollen with infection. I have been totally laid out in bed for the past days.

Really really isn't good. The Doc gave me some Cipro and some other medication and it seems like they are starting to work. So maybe we can all get together next weekend.

Glad to here you made it but that sucks getting an ear infection.

I'm pretty much good to go any time you want to go.  Fridays are best simply cause it's not so crowded out there.

I bought an Armalite off of Dave that I'd like to try out as well!

Was feeling  a lot better today so I made myself get out of the house.

I went out to the grasslands (turns out its only about 20 minutes away!) and had a great time there exploring the place.

I opened carried just cause and I wasn't allowed in my home state. Since I am from a heavily populated area, it felt strange being somewhere with no noise.
Then found two nice places to shoot there. One spot was near CR88 & CR64 I think. They had big berms behind them and a lot of shell casing all over there area. I think tomorrow I will go back and bring my guns to have some fun.

I am really loving it here in Colorado. I done think I can understand why anyone would want to live where I am originally from if they ever stepped foot in this part of the USA before.

I decided I wanted to live in CO when I was 13. I am glad I made the commitment and kept it.

No kidding. I didnt know you lived so close. We actually were going to rent a house in Ft. Collins before we found the place we are in now.

We  should get together at the plains. If you drove to Greeley, I dont mind driving the rest of the way

Yup, lots of us up North.  Dave is in Evans and I'm in Windsor and if I remember right there are a couple more from Ft. Collins and Loveland.

AR15gonzo is in Ft Collins, MilSurp is in Loveland, I am a few blocks south of the south Wal-Mart on 23rd.

I will have to show you Jensen's, the best place to buy guns and ammo, unless you find them on sale.......

Don't tell them back home how nice it is here!  The transplanted Californians (read: Tree Huggers)have already tried to screw it up!

I'm originally from TN (big surprise) and even though I love it back home, after I got stationed here, I will never want to move back home to TN.

Welcome to Colorado!

I have also noticed that the cheapest place to get 87 Octane around here is either Sinclare or the Golden Shamrock.

That's about the only complaint so far. Gas prices here are about 15ยข more a gallon than MD.

I was wondering if its okay to run 85 Octane in my Nissan truck even tough the manual for it says 87 Octane minimum.

What do you guys think?

with the altitude difference it should be fine. Once you get down to sea level again you will notice that you can't find 85 any more.

The only vehicles that I have seen that have problems are the ones that require 91, that is unless yours is supercharged....
