From Email{ "To CSSA members and friends: I have resigned as Executive Director of Colorado State Shooting Association effective immediately. It has been a wonderful four years working with all of you. We have accomplished great things together, most notably, finally getting shall-issue concealed carry passed this year. And to top it off, we also passed a bill to pre-empt local gun control ordinances! Both bills were signed by the Governor. We’ve been through a lot together and have seen many positive changes at CSSA. We have built the organization into a strong political force, with a larger membership base than ever before and a fantastic magazine. Working with our members and getting to know many of you personally has been very rewarding for me. However, in recent weeks it has become clear to me that I can no longer be effective in my job. I am resigning my position on the Board of Directors as well, and am sad to report that Matt Rivera, Director of Shooting Sports has also resigned. Any member in good standing is eligible to be appointed by the remaining Board members to fill these vacancies. If you are interested, contact [email protected]. I wish all of you the best! My home email, if any of you want to burn up some gunpowder or just stay in touch, is [email protected]. Best wishes, Aimee Rathburn" |

That's all well and good but your friends here desirve all the behind the scenes dirt. The NFA National Firearms Association which was the sanctioning event for NFA shooting events has some internal termoil. They had lapsed in thier paperwork for keeping control of the Association name, one of the dissenting members paid for and got control of the name of the organization and kept the actual group from using it anymore. I think the internal struggle pretty much finished them off. |

I don't know any of the "behind the scenes dirt." And I guess I'm still confused by what exactly your saying. I merely pass on information that others may be interested in. I'm not taking a position on this one way or the other, because as I say, I don't know the "dirt" or any of the "political issues" that may have been involved here. |
| So David, what do you know about the rise and fall of the NFA. I was at the Creek their last year there. I knew they were on the downslide when they had the falling out with Biff and Co., what's this about their internal problems. I always just thought they fell apart after leaving the Creek. Karl. |
